Sorry this could be quite a long one.

Alex is 11 weeks old and generally a very good baby. Until this past week we had been putting her down in her cot at about 9 and she would fall asleep by half past and not wake for a feed until about 2am. This week she has been sleepy earlier and we have been putting her in her cot awake at around 7pm and she falls asleep pretty much straight away and sleeps soundly until about 11pm when she stirs a bit and I feed her. She then goes back to sleep very quickly but will proceed to stir (not quite wake) every hour until about 5 or 6 am when I usually give in and take her into my bed where she sleeps soundly for another 2 hours.

My dilema is that I was getting a better nights sleep when I put her to bed later but she is obviously ready for bed earlier. She just won't sleep soundly after about 1am so I am awake listening to her squirm around and grunt most of the night. She seems to have her longest, soundest sleep from 7pm to 10 or 11.

Don't know what to do. Would she sleep better if I fed her at around 2 or 3 as well? Should I just continue as we have this week and hope that she starts to sleep more soundly in the middle of the night. Should I go back to putting her down later? Its frustrating because she never cries or wakes properly in the night, she is just restless enough to keep me awake and I don't know if she needs fed or not.

ANY ADVICE WELCOME, Thanks

I would probably feed her again, she could be going through a growth spurt and need a bit more. Or you could try getting her to take her last nap a bit later and then try and get her to stay in the old routine of going to bed at 9, maybe play with her a bit more, get her worn out, do a bedtime routine and go for 9pm.

You could give her an extra feed as a dream feed, if you dont know what this is its where you feed the baby before they wake up and try to keep them asleep.
