My LO has decided he likes his sleep lately (not like him at all!), and he keeps sleeping through mealtimes. I would just delay his meal and give it to him when he wakes, but by the time he is awake he wants a bottle :dohh: he still has 4-5 bottles throughout the day. He missed breakfast today, slept through lunch, and is now sleeping when he should be having dinner. I managed to fit a snack in when he woke up after lunch, but thats all hes had today.

How do you ladies manage it when theyre sleeping has no routine to it? He is usually awake pretty much all day... i dunno maybe hes going through a growth spurt

I just give him meals when he's awake and the timing is right and don't bother if he misses any here or there or only manages a snack at this stage. I figure within a few months he'll have sorted himself into some kind of workable routine as he's tended to do of his own accord with anything else.

I dont time meals or bottles. I usually give Omar breakfast when he wakes up, 1st bottle before 1st nap (regardless when he decides to nap). Lunch when he wakes up, then a bottle 2-3 hrs later or before he goes for his second nap (some times he skips a second nap). I give him dinner 30 or 60 mins before bedtime & a bottle before he goes to sleep. I dont offer him snacks except if we'r going out or when he naps for short period as there is no time to fit 3 meals, 3 bottles & snacks. Omar's dinner is usually a snack anyway (fruits, yoghurt or a small sandwich), as he still cant take a 3rd proper meal.

Matthew's just hitting 9 months and in the last couple of weeks has only just fully sorted out his routine for bottles, naps and meals. We had a pretty awful time between 6-8months with him either sleeping through meal times refusing to eat etc and soem days he only ate one meal others only two meals with a rare day of 3 meals. I just kept reminding myself that food is something fun til a year old and if he doesn't eat much/any of it it's not a big deal lol

Even now he doesn't eat that much food. I had a friend round the other day with her 6 month old son that eats a full baby jar in about 5-10mins I was amazed lol

Thanks. When he does have his food, he will clear his tray, just when hes sleeping pretty much constantly and still has bottles ever 3 hours its hard to fit his meals in as you have to time then just right so hes hungry but not too hungry! And you cant give them to him when hes tired, cos he just screams and wants to go to bed :dohh: Maybe hes going through a growth spurt or his teething is making him sleep lots at the mo, cos its defo not like him! x

Enjoy the extra time to rest yourself (or finally get to cleaning the bathroom if you're a sucker for punishment) while he's getting all that extra sleep. It probably won't last!

Lucas has just gone back to sleep at 1230 when he usually has his dinner. As you can see, I am chilling :)
