Sleepsuits, babygrows, vests???

my dd always wears a vest below whatever she has on, cause its cold she has long sleeved vests on, she wears a sleepsuit around 8pm at night until the morning with her vest underneath, she wears an outfit during the day, I hate socks as they keep falling off so I stock up on tights they are so handy :) she also has a pramsuit for the winter, and a coat for the rest of the year and two grobags to sleep in, they are handy for when you need to wash one! and a pair of pram boots too :)

If you're in the UK - worth keeping an eye on Tesco - they seem to completely randomly reduce packs of their vests and babygros - they had a few packs of 3 babygros down to £2 when I was in there last night, and I've gotten 5 vests for about £1.50 before. Got a Very Hungry Caterpillar jacket for £2 instead of 8 yesterday as well.

I find matching up babygro poppers to be a massive pain in the arse that makes my brain hurt - we swapped to pyjamas about 4 months with our daughter as she was busting out of the length part of babygros so fast and they're much more straightforward for my addled mind to deal with!

Tights - buy now - they're a bugger to find during the spring/summer months (bitter experience speaking)!

In really hot weather we just had her in a romper with nothing underneath apart from a nappy - some of them are adorable and we got tonnes handed down to us!

Now everyone will want to know exactly what a romper is! This terminology is confusing! And I've done it all before! Is a romper a summer-type all in one with short sleeves and legs?

My daughter is almost 2 and she still wears vests under her clothes, long/short sleeves or sleeveless depending on the temperature. I find it keeps her all nicely tucked in.

I'm with the gang who say babygrows all the way! You can get some really bight and cute ones. Although I confess I have bought a few little outfits for my wee man, but just dungaree type things with poppers for quick access! I love choosing clothes for my daughter each day and I can't wait to dress my little man when he arrives! Maybe I should have played with dolls more when I was younger.........?

I've got a romper. It's just an all in one, like a sleepsuit except there's no feet. I've seen the summer ones as well, they sometimes have shorter arms and legs and made from lighter fabric.

Wow so many replies!! thanks everyone!! i defo think i will stick with vests under most outfits as people have said its easier to remove layers than add them when out!

throwing romper in the mix has just confused me lol! i think based on the idea that its like a baby grow with no feet i think i already have some lol!

I guess he will be in baby grows and rompers and sleepsuits and vests most of the time when is at home but he will be wearing an outfit when we go to see family and things! however hard it is to dress him! lol

I dont know weather to buy him to 3-6 month vests now as i had a look yesterday and i only have newborn and 0-3 month vests! :S

I have boxes for the next couple of clothes sizes up and I chuck stuff into them as and when I see something appropriate - my mum lives in the outlet stores near her so when they got all the summer stuff in to clear off, she bought my daughter her entire next summer's wardrobe, and we'll repeat that at the end of winter for next winter. Spreads the pain of buying the next size up's stuff if you do it a bit at a time when stuff is cheap (or cute) and then it's just a case of lifting the outgrown stuff out of drawers and the new stuff into drawers one day.

I was born 9.10 and my fella 11.10 sobi'm buying 0-3 months clothes as I'm sure I'm going to be giving birth to a whopper!!! I can always buy a few smaller bits if she is not that big.
I'm a first time mum but will be sticking to baby grows while in the house and a couple of nice outfits for visiting family. We also have a tutu which we will out over a baby grow and tights as we have 2 weddings and a party to go to when she is little and it seems easier than buying dresses. (and she can have it for her folks when she grows up!)

Well my step mums friend has just passed me loads of little boy clothes they are second hand but look barely used!! Baby now has more 0-3 clothes than I think he will ever need and some even in 3-6 and 6-9 lol

YAY love hand me downs saves so much money and means you can move on to the next bits on the list  my SIL gave us a bag full of onesies in different sizes and said there is more :happydance: so happy as i never realised how much there was to buy to prepare for bubs, need a medium lottery win LOL :dohh:

I know!!! It's crazy all this baby stuff! I have pretty much everything on my list! My travel system is a present from my parents so I don't have that yet but I know it's taken care of!

I need to decorate the nursary now ready for the furniture and then sort out the car really! Swapping the car to a slightly more baby friendly one as I have a beetle lol

Can't wait to wash all his clothes and put them away nicely in his nursery though :)

Ohh your so good having everything orgaised so well, we have so so much to get but im trying to stay calm LOL

im wondering about the washing thing and thinking of maybe only washing a few of each size as he could arrive at any size hehe

I don't know I think I will just wash everything so whatever size he comes he has clothes I don't have much newborn stuff so just as long as he's not like 15 pounds lol I'm sure 0-3 will be grand

Yep...my son was 9lbs 11 and was born into 0-3. I had washed all the newborn clothes I had bought for him though...oops! He only fit in 0-3 for 3 weeks though then was in 3-6's. I'd maybe wash the bigger stuff and some essentials in smaller sizes lol.
