Have any of you ladies (or the few men floating around!) ever been to Slimming World? If so what did you make of it?
I DON'T stick to diets well so I need something relativly easy to follow.

I joined Slimming World 8 weeks ago and have so far lost 1st 2.5lbs
I am following the Easy Extra Plan and it is sooooo easy, I sometimes can't believe I am on a diet.

I know many people who have had success with Slimming World.

It's more about eating the right types of food than dieting if you know what I mean.

Oh WOW! Congrats Binxy!!

From what I've read it teaches you about eating properly?

Completely. Things like fresh fruits and veg, lean meats and a healthy portion of pasta/rice/potatoes.

Basically, it teaches you to eat the foods you should be eating anyway and cuts out processed foods. Sort of like retraining the brain.

When you join you'll get access to the website and it provides hundreds of recipes.

You are allowed to eat 5-15 syns a day and the site will tell you what an item is worth and there's an app for your phone that does it too.

Thanks.
Yes, it does teach you about having a healthy relationship with food.
There are lots of 'free' foods that you can have each day. These include fruit, veg, pasta, rice, couscous, eggs, potatoes, and lean meat - as long as they are prepared in a healthy way.
There are then things that you can have as a 'healthy extra' each day.
Everything else has a 'syn' value and you can have between 5 and 15 syns a day.

I have yet to go hungry on this diet, but the weight is dropping off me.

I did slimming world and lost almost 2 stone in 12 weeks. I have put a bit back on so will be going back in the new year x

SW ivr heard many great things about, I like to follow some of there recipes but i find what works for me is logging my calories on myfitnesspal it tells me how many calories i have left and i keep track of the calories i have burned through exercise, its a real motivator for me as i challenge to stick to the daily calories and then see the lbs fall off at the end of the week. x

Personally, I think part of the reason I am losing the weight is because I have paid my money and attend the group sessions.
I have countless diet books that I just don't follow because part of the motivation for me is not wanting to waste my money.
Plus you can get some good recipe ideas from the others at group.

I really recommend slimming word, my mums just got her 2.5 st award, I've gotjust under 1.5 st I'm just 4lbs off my 9 1/2 st target :)

I started slimming world in the summer. I lost weight, then ate rubbish :( and put it back on. I plan on starting again in the new year though. It really is about just changing the way you eat. I ate more than I usually do when I was on it, but it was more of the right foods, which is why it works. xxx

I'm going to SW. I joined in May and have lost almost 3 1/2 stone and still going strong! It's a really easy diet to follow, and I can eat as much as I like as long as it's the right foods. The only time I struggle is when someone tempts me with my old favourites.

I agree with what's been said about going to class - paying a fiver a week is great motivation as I hate to waste money!

I've been at SW for six or seven weeks now and have just got my stone award. It is brilliant! I really recommend it xx

I love SW, iv lost two stone 4. I think its worth going to the classes, sharing tips and bad weeks with every one else makes you realise that every one has crap weeks every now and then. If i dident go to class i would let my bad weeks get the better of me and then just stop doing it.

For me personally, I neeeed to go to group. As soon as i dont go the bad habits creep in again x

Yep I have been for 4 weeks.
If I didnt go to class there is no way i would have stuck to it - I missed a week this week due to work commitements and I have literally fell (jumped ;)) right off plan!
See my ticker :)

I'd love to do slimming world but am on my own with my daughter so I wouldn't be able to go to meetings. Anyone know how much it costs a month to join online? X
