Hi all!

Well in my mad Googling for symptoms I came across the slippery pulse theory from Chinese medicine. It says pregnant women are more likely to have a 'slippery pluse' (although there are other reasons you may have one).

Thought it might be fun to try it out and post the results if anyone wants to have a go! I am no expert so not sure if I am doing it right but thought I'd have a go for fun :)

Here is a link I found on how to take the pulse, have a look at the pic, you will need to hook your right hand under your left wrist to get into the correct position...

A slippery pulse will flow freely and rapidly between your index and fourth finger apparently and may feel like pearls rolling in a dish or water pulsing through a garden hose.

Here are some definitions of the different kinds of pulses I found...

It would also be great to hear any experiences with this!

7DPO today and I seem to have a slippery pulse so we will see what happens....

When I was about 12 dpo my acupuncturist told me she felt a "pregnancy pulse".
I had already gotten a BFP before that, so it came to no surprise.
I understand it's very difficult for inexperienced fingers to tell the difference, but I guess if checking everyday you'd start to tell the difference when change happens.

I guess it's kind of like checking your cervix. There is a learning curve^^ I can't make out anything other than the fact that I have a pulse^^;

Pretty cool, checked it, but no clue if I have a slippery pulse or not!! Just feels like blood pumping through, lol. Maybe I'm too relaxed, shall check it again in the morning!

Yes you are so right about needing experience, I think I will check each day so I can slowly learn the difference :thumbup:
