My daughter is fed breastmilk in a bottle with Gaviscon in it but as she can only have 6 in 24 hours, if she needs more than this we give her SMA Staydown. It seems like such a faff though and she doesn't particularly like it because it's so cold and I was wondering if we are making it correctly?
We put 4oz of water in a sterile bottle and put it in the fridge until it's competely chilled, then we add the 4 scoops of formula and then do the vigourous rolling as described on the pack. It then says you can sit it in tepid water but my experience of this is the formula just cools the tepid water and it doesn't actually change the temp of the formula.
We don't want to switch to the other thickened formulas as they require teats with a bigger hole and switching between them all the time would be confusing.
Does everyone serve the SMA Staydown chilled?
