SMA vs Aptamil

Hi guys/girls

Our little man was 5 days only and had to be changed over to SMA blue as he was drinking far too much of the SMA yellow all has been good until a few weeks ago he has had constipation very badly thats making him sore, our health visitor was out this morning and i had said to her when checking over him about his problems we have been told to change from the SMA blue to the aptamil hungry baby milk..

Whats ur reviews on the aptamil guys/girls? whats different between the both milks..

We started on SMA and it was horrid, switched to Aptimal and all was fine. Can I ask why he's on hungry baby and how old he is? x

Hes 4 weeks old today, We had been told by our health visitor to change as he was drinking too much every feed (full bottle 9oz) every 2/3 hours now hes drinking around 5oz every 4 hours.

Just a quickie, as I can't comment on SMA, but Aptamil is fab. We've tried Cow and Gate and Hipp Organic with our baby, and neither of them compare. Aptamil seems like a nice 'smooth' milk and April certainly likes the taste, with the amount she eats!

The constipation could be caused as he's on a formula that is too dense for him. Although lots of formula states from birth any hungry baby formula can cause problems with pooing in young babies as it is harder fro them to digest. Worrth trying Aptimal to see if it helps him

O and just so you know, my LO was a very big eater too and fed regularly and at about 2 months the time between feeds started getting greater

We has Isabella on S26 and she was extremely constipated and vomiting basically the whole bottle every feed! We changed her to Aptamil AR1 and have been very happy with the results! I'd recommend this milk!

My Lo was on Sma Gold until she was 14 weeks and she wasn't wanting her milk anymore and was becoming constipated and having bad wind. So I changed to Aptimil and it is much better. She is happier drinking this milk, regular dirty nappies and no more wind

kacey is on aptimal and we have had no problems. Although aptimal hungry says from birth i have read that aptimal hungry shouldnt be given to babys under 11lb. used to soon may cause consypation. Obviously upto you but why not try stage 1 1st and see how baby gets on. kacey is 7 weeks old and the amount oif times a day she drinks has got less.
