Hello!

I'm just wondering if anyone here is following SMEP?

I have read a little about it on here and decided to give it a go, just did some more proper reading via Google and seems I'm on the right track! We started DTD from CD 6 and then every other day (we are now CD 13) and I've started the OPKs, got a faint line today so am hoping it gets darker tomorrow.

Has anyone used the SMEP method with success?

The stuff I read online says really positive things about it! Makes sense to me to have sperm ready to meet the egg. I was pretty sure we got it right last cycle but perhaps I was wrong!

Here's to a BFP with cycle number two! Would love to have some SMEP buddies to talk about it with, or experts to help out with questions!

:flower:

I am no expert on it but I tried it for the first time last cycle. I am also going to try it again this cycle. What CD are you on?

Hey Loves Cupcake - thanks for replying!

I'm on CD 13 now - how about you? It seems like a pretty easy plan to follow. I'm quite excited about this cycle again, I guess because I'm gearing up to ovulation and that's the fun part!

I am only CD 2 so I still have a bit of a wait a head of me. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you though and that it works. Please keep me posted!

Me and the dh did this so I'm still waiting on the results good luck ladies :) fx

We tried but got too hung up on it and DH felt pressured, so BD started feeling like a chore. I still use OPKs, but now I just try to be more sexy around O time and let things happen. Hope that works :)

Thanks ladies! Fingers crossed for us all, will let you know how I get on for sure :)

Hi there, this is my 3rd month following SMEP. The first month we tried SMEP I got a bfp, but it ended in a m/c at 6 weeks. The second month we tried my Grandmother died when I was 6dpo and AF came 3 days later...I was hoping it was due to the stress and not a short LP. I am on CD16, waiting for a + opk. We started SMEP back on CD7. I am a planner and I like to have my BDing schedule in advance, it works well for DH and I am I have read so many good things about it. Good luck to you!

Thanks savvy, it's good to hear your experience with it... I am so sorry for your loss :flower: x

We started CD 6 and like you I am a planner and scheduling works for me, it helps me feel I have some semblance of control when the reality is very different!

Can I ask you if you think we have done it right?

DTD: CD 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15 so far. We are now on CD 16 and getting what I think are pretty close to positive OPKs, so I think we will do CD 16 17 18 skip 19 and do 20. Does this sound right? I'm such a newbie!

Hey cycle buddy, I am on CD16 too! :flower:

Here is my 2 cents, as long as your hubby has no known sperm issues then it would be okay to go four days in a row (15,16,17,18)...if the opks are not quite positive yet you could always hold off tonight and BD (17,18,19...skip 20 and then do 21)...you O about 12-36 hours after a + opk.

I don't get an ewcm but I use preseed which I like. I am getting impatient for my + opk, I am hoping I see it tomorrow!

Oh heyyyy! Great to have a cycle buddy! How long are your cycles normally? I think I'm expecting about 31 days this time, given past experiences but mine are sort of unpredictable.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I really appreciate it.

I'm impatient too. The lines have been getting darker and I have EWCM so I guess it's coming! We are also using preseed :)

My cycles are usually between 24-26 days though I have had a few random 30 day cycles thrown in the mix too. I am hoping since I haven't O'd yet that this is one of the 30 day cycles and I will get a + opk tomorrow and O Sunday or Monday.

You are lucky with the ewcm, I have never had any. That is why I bought the preseed. I am hoping that it does the trick this time. We have been ttc since last spring...so almost a year now. I can't wait to be prego! :)

It's so hard when your cycles aren't completely predictable, huh?

I'm very hopeful for you! I also can't wait to be pregnant. It's something I've dreamed of for a very very long time. I just hope this is the month!

I spent my first couple of cycles not prepared, I would just put my dates into an online calculator and BD when it told me to. My DH travels a bit for work in the summer and he was gone at the worst times. I got serious about ttc and started really researching at the end of the summer. I finally started temping and using opks more than once a day and I find it to be extremely helpful. Now I have some record of what is going on and I make notes so I can look back and see if certain signs, etc. happened and when.

Fx'd that this is your month too - I am determined to get my bfp! :)
