I'm looking into getting a wrap for my LO as he will not let me put him down anymore without a screaming fit (and I thought it was hard when he was younger!) I was looking at the Smith wrap by Victoria Sling Lady or the Moby wrap. Does anyone have experience with these wraps? Which one is better? I want it to be a long-term wrap that doesn't fall apart or stretch out badly. Or if there's another good wrap I should know about, please let me know! Thanks

At 5 months, I wouldn't bother with a stretchy, as you won't get that much use out of it. A woven wrap would be a good choice, or mei tais are very easy to use if all the fabric puts you off.

I have the moby for my 2 month old and am v happy with it but don't think I will be using it in the long term as she gets bigger. I think it can be used until they are 8 months but think I will move on the a Mei tai next. She already feels quite heavy in this. Tried a woven wrap and the weight was distributed better.

Darn! Mei Tais are pretty expensive  actually., all woven wraps are expensive from what I've seen

A smith-firm by VSL is a woven wrap, it wont last as long as a "propper" woven wrap since it wont be as supportive but it will be more supportive than a moby.

Woven wraps and mei tai are expensive but they keep there value. I paid £95 for my woven a year ago and could probably sell it for the same.

Have you looked at getting second hand ones? I got one of my mei tais for £35 and will probably sell it on for that too.

between those 2 I would choose a smith-firm. I wore mine today. They're not as supportive as a proper woven but they are pretty good and only around £25 all in. at this stage, as someone else said, a stretchy won't do you much good for much longer!

I've got a VSL firm wrap and wore it today! Very comfortable and my LO prefers it to my babyhawk mei tai so I would def recommend it. I bought one with a panel and it was lovely. Not having used a wrap before, when I took it out of the packaging, I thought I would never manage all that material but ESP if you watch some you tube vids, it's ok. Just a few practices before I got it right. Also you can tie it before you go out if you're going in the car first.

I have a moby wrap and love it! It's very comfortable to wear and doesn't hurt my back like the regular carriers. It can be used for LO's up to 35 pounds. I was able to get mine cheaper by going on the target website and gettign a less desirable color...I saved about $10
