So close to crawling - how can I help him?

Fin is 5 and a half months and is so close to crawling forwards..... he's up on his hands and knees all the time and he even gets up in like this weird triangle position, like he's trying to get up and walk (ha ha - wishful thinking mate).... he's going backwards.... can i help him go forwards in anyway?? he's getting so angry!!!

Grace crawled backwards first, I think most babies do. She has only recently learned how to go forwards, she gets on her tiptoes too sometimes as if she wants to walk. I found putting toys out of her reach in front of her helped. And if they do it on carpet as it's less slippy. Or if you only have slippy flooring, take their socks and trousers off!

lilly also crawled backwards first, try enouraging him with a favourite toy just out of reach

Can Fin sit up on his own yet and roll both ways?

I am worried that Tristan isn't rolling from his back to his front yet (he can roll from front to back) and can only sit up for a few seconds on his own.

Ha sounds like my lil max when he first learned to crawl , they will do the triangle thing for a bit then crawl backwards ..and after a few weeks crawl all over normally ..

One thing I did do was actually crawl on the floor with him to show him , sounds silly but worked

I am worried that Tristan isn't rolling from his back to his front yet (he can roll from front to back) and can only sit up for a few seconds on his own.

he rolls both ways and started to sit up unaided really quite early... only trouble is he hasn't advanced on that as he can only stay up for a few seconds on his own.... the same length of time as he did when he started to sit up. if you know what i mean.... (i'm rambling.....too tired!). i honestly wouldn't worry poppy. give him time. i think there'll be many things tristan is doing that fin isn't for sure. xxx

You could try taking down to Marks & Spencers and putting him quite close to say...erm...the egg custards...and see if that tempts him forward....I know I'd spring in to action.

Awww His doing really well!! Ellie is well lazy shes not long been rolling over and shes trying to sit up shes getting better but i would say anywhere near close really lol. My little lad was nearly crawling and sitting unaided by now shes really laid back totally different. To help benn i moved his hand and knees for him to show him how its done and he picked it up pretty quick.

Awww he's such a clever little lad!

Daisy is doing the same thing! i was trying to get a photo of it today and they were all blurry!
I bought Daisy a crawling tigger and she seems determined to follow it so I'm hoping that will get her going....although I shouldn't really be wanting her to crawl so quickly cos i know she is going to wreck my house when she eventually does it!

You can see her eyeing everything up at the moment, hatching her plan!
