i make Rosie a 6oz bottles of milk, she has them at 4 hour intervals, except at night, she'll have milk during the night, but not much.

Anyway, i was reading through the guidlines on back of box and it states 8oz!! :saywhat:

She has food, she has breakfast half a pot of baby breakfast, i.e. porridge, or banana or something, then her milk, but will only take half of it, as she has eaten, then again at lunch she has a main and a pudding, again half a pot of each, and then will only take half to 3/4 of the milk, then at 4pm, she has her other bottle and will take it all, 5pm se has a veg or rice pudding or something, again half a pot, then at 7pm she has a 6oz bottle but never finishes it so she has a dream feed at 10pm

Now i wonder if she should be having more when she isn't drinking it? Im so confused

:hi:

My tin of milk says they need at least around 600ml/1 pint of milk a day?

AJ will only take 6oz bottles too. He takes 4 bottles, sometimes 5 if he'll take a dream feed.
Sorry I'm not more help. :hugs:

Hannah has never gotten up to 8 ounces....some babies just don't drink as much milk as the "guidelines" say

Thanks girls.
I know she is doing well, she is putting on weight and what not, so im sure everything is ok. more reasurance then anything

same with Hannah :D She always gained weight beautifully though she never drank the amount of milk that I was told she should be drinking ;)

Ollie has 4 5oz bottles a day, he just isn't a big milk drinker and never has been. Faith was the same. Rosie's intake is fine hun, it's just guidelines on the tin, every baby is different x

Jasmine has only ujust started drinkin 7oz bottles (like within the last week or so)... before that she would only drink 4-5oz at a time.

hey hun annabelle is quite similar we have had to change the times of it all she now does

7am - 40z bottle
8.30am - 3oz milk for baby cereal
11am - 6oz bottle but only drinks a max of 5 normally 4 though
1pm - lunch and pud
4pm - 6oz bottle again max of 5 but normally 4
5.30pm - tea and pud
7pm - 6oz bottle but normally only drinks 3 but then sleeps through

i have thought the same about the amount of milk she takes in but i cant fit anymore into her, my GP told me as long as she was taking between 18-21oz she is fine

If your worried about how much milk is getting in, dont forget you can always mix it in with their food like in porridge, cheese sauces. With my 1st he was a ganet and ate and drank everything in sight. but sometimes like with most picky eaters no matter what their age you have to find other ways of getting it into them. I wouldnt worry too much as like you said she is doing fine. Only worry if they eat or drink nothing. Alternatively if she is refusing feeds, reduce some of her food. Just a few ideas for you:thumbup:
