So LO is 3 weeks old and I'm now thinking putting her in comfort milk last week was a bit too soon. I wish I had given her belly time to adjust to normal milk as she doesn't seem any better on comfort but we now have the added sloppy poo's which I know is normal on comfort milk.

I'm just thinking, surely a babies guts need time to adjust and be able to deal with the milk and having these sloppy poo's can't be healthy! It's like I'm trying to get rid of one issue (colic) and replacing it with another (diarrhoea)!

She still seems to have a bit of constipation and I think the issue is that more than colic.

I've now got colief and read it helps break down the lactose content so can I not go back on normal milk and just add the colief?

It's so hard trying to figure out what's best!

Sorry for my ignorance, I'm in the US. What is comfort milk?

I've fed them formula and the little breast milk I'm able to pump. They get no cow, goat, sheep, or any other milk besides what's in the formula and my own.

Comfort milk is one designed for babies with colic or constipation. Its meant to have less lactose in it and be easier on the tummy.

Since writing this pot I've now come off comfort and back on normal milk. She seems better and get poo 's are back to normal.

It's funny how spitting up causes them no stress whatsoever, but having a liquidly poop does. If she does have an upset tummy again, my husband and I have been using Gripe Water which helps break up the bubbles in their tummies. I hear BioGia works well, too, but we haven't used it more than once.

Well she's now back on normal c&g stage 1 milk! We were going to wean her back over but pretty much just did it as her pooing was becoming ridiculous! She had about 4 days of being constantly hungry but is now fine and settled! Ironicly (even though comfort milk is meant to stop colic) we've had no colic since I took her off comfort!
