I started a full time job at the beginning of decemeber...... 8:30-5, 5 days a week! and my OH is working away at the mo so my week just feels like a whirlwind....... up at 6:30, get myself and tom dressed take tom to nursery go to work, pick tom up, have dinner together play for and hr, bath then bed for tom and a couple of hrs rest for me!!

I'm so tired and feel like I spend no quality time with Tom as he's usually tired and grumpy in the eves. And the weekends go so quickly!!!

When my OH gets back he will be able to look after him during the day so the pressure will be off a bit as we'll share duties but I just hate being full time and am consideriing quitting my job!!!

Anyone else in a similar situation, where you wonder why you had a child if you never see them!!!!

I'm going back to work full time soon, I'm dreading it. We could afford to go part time, but the office is understaffed so can't. And if I quit and got another job, I'd be on much less money so I'd have to work full time anyway. Talk about catch-22! I'll be the only mum I know with kids under 12 that works full-time

I'm hoping that they'll let me drop a few hours once it gets less busy.

No advice, just :hugs:

thanks cocoa!! I've considered asking work if i can drop to 4 days but i only started in december so prob a bit cheeky!!!

Hopefully it's not forever, but then i think tom is in school in 3 yrs time and i'm really gonna regret being at work through his early yrs!!!

Hiya!

I started back full time in October and I have just dropped to 4 days per week as it was killing me leaning the house at 7.15 to catch the bus and getting home 11.5 hours later. I was the same, never spending any time at home and the weekends were too short!

My work were really understanding. I explained that I needed more time at home and that financially with childcare and everything, I was getting so stressed. They were really quick to respond. Luckily I work in a job where I have very little responsibility so it doesn't impact on my workload.

I'm sure if you talked to your work you could probably come to an arrangement. Home working, condensed hours, flexi-time? Just to give yourself a break! You need to take time for yourself from time to time! Otherwise you'll burn out!

Hope things calm down soon hun :hugs:

I am FT. I was 8:30-5pm, but it meant a 7:45 - 6pm day with commuting and LO was always grumpy! I am changing to 8am-4:30pm from tomorrow and it 'should' give us an extra hour together in the evenings :) - yay! And a less grumpy mummy and baby girl.

Ha! Just found this thread, which I wrote nearly a yr ago!! Well I'm still in the job but will be quitting on Mon! I can't bare not spening quality time with my LO and OH anymore!

Well I handed in my notice this morning! I was a bit nervous but it's done now and I can concentrate on looking forward to being a SAHM!! :happydance:

yaaaaaaay. i love it. sure you will to. just in time for christmas to x

Hi Guys

I'm currently casting for a new Channel 4 programme that I'm working on. After looking over the forum there are a few people that seem like they might be suitable for our programme. Below are the details of programme, if you think you might be interested, or just want more information, I'd love to hear from you!

True North Productions: Press Release Jan 2012
True North Productions are making a programme for Channel 4 which will take a family who are fed up of their current jobs/quality of life and want to pack it all in, sell their house, relocate and set up their own business.
The idea is that our expert presenter will evaluate their current life – their assets (house, car, savings), their skills, their future dreams - and come up with three different feasible business/life plans to get them started on the path to the future they wish to have.
Not only will they be presented with these plans, they will also get the opportunity to really experience what making these life changes would be like.
We are looking for families who have the money and the get up and go attitude and would be in a position to make these changes in the next few months.
With the time and expert advice our programme can offer, it's a perfect opportunity for people who dream of this and have the financial backing, but until now just haven't had the headspace or right opportunity to go for it!
If this sounds like something you and your family might be interested in then please contact me with a little bit of information about yourself and I will get in touch.
