Hi ladies,

I'm just looking for a bit of help/advice on what my next move should be. I posted on the forum a week or two ago with symptoms I thought could've been pregnancy related now I'm just thinking that I'm crazy!

So a bit of backstory might be needed here. Usually my cycles are between 28-31 ish days I usually O around CD 14 or there abouts. Now this month has been kinda crazy. I'm currently CD 41! My AF was due 3rd June. So effectively I'm 11 days late. I've had cramping like I was going to get AF but still nothing, I've been feeling nauseous and lightheaded. Fatigue and headaches this is all very rare for me. I had two random bouts of spotting on 29th May & 1st June... Again very weird as if I bleed it's usually AF.

As the days passed and I didn't get AF I bit the bullet and took a test well when I say took a test I took three! Test one was on 5th June so CD 32 which was negative. I got impatient and took another the morning of 6th June and that one confused me the second line showed for a second and then faded. I decided to leave it for a few days and get a clear blue digi so on Monday 8th (CD 35) I took the digi and low and below it said 'not pregnant' I'm so confused I really don't know what to do my AF has still not arrived I'm so frustrated I'm very emotional right now and I feel like giving up all together.

So my question is has anybody had negative tests and turned out to be pregnant? Or a similar situation and what happened? Id like a bit of hope lol thank you xxx

Yes you can have neg HPT and be preg. It can take up to 14 days being late before it shows. I would say since your second test did show a second line for a second I would either retest or go get a blood test. Worst case scenario which happened with me was you might've not ovulated. I had a 40 day cycle once and I've read that anything over a 35 day cucle(if you're reg) is considered anovulatory(which means you didn't ovulate). But don't count yourself out. Test again or get an ultrasound or blood test. Sounds promising

Thank you hun, I'm going to give my doc a call and see what he says. It's just so frustrating getting a faint flash of a second line and then the digi saying not pregnant... I'm trying to remain hopeful but it's hard. Fingers crossed x

Oh really? That sounds a little more promising twins run in my family on both sides bet you've got your hands full. Thank you hun x

I mc'd my first set but have since gone on to have a daughter and twin boys, it's slightly crazy and we're hoping for number 4 at the moment.

I've had two miscarriages one was twins I was devastated... Aww fingers crossed for you! X

There is a huge chance that you didn't ovulate. I had a 120 cycle my last cycle and this cycle im now on day 45 i think. They say the best thing you can do is temp so that you know when you ovulate and exactly when your period is due. Apparently the period isn't late if you haven't ovulated because it isn't due. I had a similar situation with this cycle period was due the 29th of may i had some spotting a few days before then nothing but cramps. I kept think my period was coming it still has yet to come. I have also taken two pregnancy test both bfn one on the 7th day i was late and one yesterday at 15 days late both BFN. So i figure its just another annovulatory cycle and i started taking vitex after the first test just to get a head start and hopefully avoid another ridiculously long cycle again and im going to start temping tomorrw. I would say test again after your 2 weeks late because by then the amount of hcg in your system should have built up enough to get a positive hpt and if not most doctors are more than willing to give you a serum hcg to confirm that your not pregnant. Best of luck to you hope you get your BFP but if not i hope af shows her face, for us both lol. Don't give up and dont stress...

*Update*

I've been to see my doc this morning he's asked me to do a urine sample to check for pregnancy as well as a urine infection. Also I'm booked in for a blood test too, he said I could have a urine infection as when he was feeling my stomach I had discomfort around my bladder but he can't put me on antibiotics until we know for sure whether I'm pregnant or not. I think now I'm just on a long cycle and I didnt O when I thought although I got the ovulation pain I sometimes get but hey oh I suppose I'll just have to wait and see what happens
