I have an appointment with the FS on July 7th. This is round 7 or 8 (I've lost track!!!) of Clomid coming up (start Saturday because I am CD1 today). So...what the heck is next??? I am ovulating on my own...Clomid was for "unexplained" and "possible low progesterone". So, I am SOL or what??? Anyone know?

Hey hun, I know it varies between FS but mine has told me after I finish the Tamoxifen (basically the same as Clomid) the next step for me would be IUI (not sure how many goes) then IVF.

I know the success rates for IUI aren't great, but my FS said as time is on my side it is worth a go, but I know some FS don't bother with it.

Are you having any monitoring whilst on the Clomid? If so, could you ask at your next apt what would be the next stage for you?

FX the Clomid will do it for you & you won't need to worry about what comes next!

They put me on Follistim injections with an IUI after Clomid, but I know things are different over there....:hugs:

I am sure they have done this.... but they did a sperm analysis on your OH before they put you on Clomid, right? My doctor always tells me stories about how they are so quick to put a woman on Clomid before checking the man and it usually ends up being low sperm motility or something.

No, because we are TTC pregnancy #6, and we have two children.

Tina.... Did you read what my FS told me on Tuesday? I told him about me taking Clomid and he really didn't want me to continue with it as he said since I ovulate on my own, that it can actually do more harm than good as it can affect your hormonal balance with a woman who naturally ovulates on her own. I temp chart and he said my charts are textbook charts and the fact that I have 3 children and that I have been pregnant 3 times with my husband looks great. He is going to do a uturine biopsy to check my progesterone levels as he said the cd 21 test isn't all that accurate.

I am about to start round 4 of Clomid and have just been placed on the IVF waiting list as well. There is nothing else inbetween Clomid and IVF for us!

Well, I am on CD 1 now, and I think this was a failed 6 or 7th round of Clomid. Pretty sad that I have lost track. I am ready to move on from Clomid. I am not sure what is next. I am really wanting to speak to my specialist, which will be July 7th.

I would talk to your specialist. I wonder if iui would be an option? How does Cananda work with fertility things? Does it work like over in the UK where the government takes care of your medical or is it like here in the US where we have our own private insurance? Good luck and I hope you get some answers soon!

fertility treatments are not covered by the government in our Health Care system. I have extended health benefits through my work, but fertility treatments are not covered (neither are fertility drugs)...and I don't think many extended benefits in Canada cover that. But, I think it is only about $300-$400 for each IUI. I would have to travel to a different city though.

Used Clomid for several months - it made me very sick... our obgyn sent us to an RE... I am now using Femara.

What is femara? Is it like Clomid, or different? Pills? Injection? Is it to ovulate?
