HI hun.

I had an early scan at 8 weeks aftert losing my previous baby at 6 weeks and had not made it a scan.

I was really scared as I was there because i had had a small amount of bleeding. The sonographer wsa lovely. She said that if she did not say anything to start woth it did not mean there was anytning wrong, she was just looking at everything. Then she turned the screen towards me and I saw the flickering heartbeat straight away!!!

It is up to yu whether you look at the scree or not if they give you the optiong but it is completley normal to feel nervous and scared.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Let us know how it goes xxxxxx

For me it was a bit different there is a wall mounted screen that it is all showed on. WHen I want in for the scans before and after the Mc I started off by not looking but with the second I wanted it to give me closure that it was all gone ( I know that sounds cold but for me the worst thing is not knowing) With my early scan this time again it was up on the big screen the sonographer warned me that it would be and not to panic if I could not see anything but I was the bulb straight away and then when she zoomed in I saw the heartbeat.

hi with this pregnancy i had early scans at 5 & 6 weeks and both of them i was a nervous wreck i just expected the worse after 2 mc i avoided looking at the screen until prompted. Everything was fine though. I guess its natural for women who have had mc to feel this way at scans. Im sure everything will be fine. :hugs:

She started scanning me and I couldn't see the screen. Once she saw the heartbeat she turned it and showed me.

It doesn't hurt - it can be uncomfortable when they move the probe to see the ovaries.

After 2 losses, I finally got to see a heartbeat.
I started at the screen the whole time, searching, and when I finally saw it, I burst into tears!
The nurse had to stop and wait for me to be still and stop crying before she could carry on with the scan!

It's terrifying, but worth it. x

My epu scan they only turned the screen when they knew what was happening. My private scan the screen was wall mounted and right in front of me - as was the 12 week scan.

All times I felt sick and my heart was pounding followed by profound relief.

Good luck tomorrow - get a pic!!
