Some symptoms but BFN....any advice?

Just wanted to find out if anyone has experienced anything similar to this...

For a start I have weird cycles, they alternate between 36 and 53 days so it all gets a bit confusing anyway! I thought this one was 36 days, I O'd at the correct time for 36 days with all the right O signs and did a test 5 days after AF should have arrived but got a BFN.

I assumed it was just another unsuccessful month, forgot about it and just guessed this was going to be a 53 day cycle! Now at 55 days, still no AF but have had really sore breasts for about 2-3 weeks now, much much worse than I usually get just for 1-2 days before AF. Have also felt sick every day this week when I get in from work around 6-7pm, it seems to be that I feel sick but hungry at the same time. This is especially weird for me as I don't usually have much of an appetite at the best of times and am never a sicky person. If AF doesn't arrive by next weekend (which would be day 61 of my cycle) I'll do another test.

Just thinking maybe I'm imagining these symptoms whilst really hoping I'm not!

It is always difficult predicting what you are imagining and what is actual (already guilty of symptom spotting at 4DPO)

What HPT are you using and have you just done one test? It could be that they are not sensitive enough to pick up low levels of HCG.
Did you use an OPK or BBT to confirm ovulation? It is possible that you ovulated much later then you thought and you are still in your luetal phase?

I know it is a nightmare but keep strong darling

I used a Clearblue HPT, no OPK or anything to predict ovulation so def could have been wrong - esp when my cycles are a bit odd anyway! That's why I'm trying to wait as long as poss to do another HPT, don't want to get my hopes up!

oooo Sairycake that is an amazing coincidence! What part of poole do you live in? We're at Baiter, very lucky and love it!

I think using a HPT could have given false results. I am sure you have just ovulated much later in your cycle. The best advice I can give you is to wait a day until your longest cycle length and then test with an IC HPT. It hurts like hell if you get a (Happened to me twice recently!) but at least you will know.

So...I couldn't wait any longer and ended up doing 2 tests today, both BFP!! Am slightly in shock at the moment!
