I know what they are and i know that if the test line
is as dark as the control line or darker its positive.. BUT
what does other lines mean.. I know negative if anything else
but i basically mean say if its nearly as dark as the control line
does that mean it is near within a few days? and if its very pale
it means quite a way off?

Sorry to sound dumb

You don't sound dumb at all, they were very confusing to me as well at first! What I understand and have witnessed is most people get a gradual rise in darkness until they hit their surge but there are those who actually stay light for a long time then bam get a dark one with no warning. This is why they recommend to bd every other day because a OPK surge just tells you that you will probably O in the next 24-48 hours, those few days before and day of o are the most important when ttc. Now there is no way to actually confirm O unless you are charting and actually see that thermal shift unfortunately. Hope that helps :)

Thankyou that is what i thought .. i used to do them
for around 7/8 month but stopped and started ntnp but
i think im going to start using them again but whenever i have
used them i get the light line and it gradually goes darker and darker
iv found i was silly and used one now  just to see what it would do
as im 3 days until testing so it shouldn't be positive.. but it was nearly as
dark and i mean so close to being dark so it confused me alot! ,,

But at least next cycle i can use them now and have a good idea
about it building up to it but we do bd anyway when the line is nearly
there then when its darkest and after :)

They are confusing! I didn't really realize before this forum that the surge is literal and shows up accordingly on the test strips. Tricky, but kinda nice once you get it all figured out. GL with the BDing. :)

Hi Ladies I was hoping you could help me to :) I did a opk test on Sunday and the second line was lighter, then on tuesday i did another test and there was no line at all, does this mean i could have ovulated a couple of days before i tested on Sunday?
My body is all over the place at the moment from my D&C so i am just praying that it goes back to normal and i can fall again :)
good luck to you all xx

I would assume so but it could come back again so maybe if
so have enough tests to keep doing a few more? like 1st reply
on here.. people can get like a gradual line that gets darker.. and
some can get nothing and then a sudden positive.. Im not sure on the
whole no line one as i thought you always get a line because theres always
LH in your body  mine are always 1 line until 3minutes then a line
pops up lol!

GL!! xx

If you are getting that dark of an OPK this close to af I would take a preg test!! Opks can pick up pregnancy ;)

I just did it for fun as i don't need any yet and i have alot
ordered to come for next cycle so i thought why not
instead of using a test and wasting lol! .. but i needed to know
about what it ment with the light line going to dark if it went you
was close iykwim.. :winkwink:

But the Opk i used looked like when your 3 days off O  well
basically nearly as dark as control line but obviously its pointless
finding out off a opk  .. ill be testing tomorrow i think properly
