I have a 3 yr old son so have his Silver Cross pram with car seat etc that I will be using for this one so haven't been looking at prams as I won't need a new one. However, I keep reading/hearing about the iCandy and everyone seems to want one and I can't suss out does it do something special or is it is look that makes it so popular?

Whats the draw for you (just curious as like I said I haven't looked at prams at all). That said I might not know i want one and after this thread may well need a new pram after all!

If I am honest I thought the iCandy was one that had a socket for your Ipod or something but am not sure it does - it was the "i" bit that confused me? Ipod/iphone/ipad lol you can see where i was going with it :dohh:

LOL I'm curious too. I live in a very trendy area and it seems my stroller isn't trendy enough.

to be honest i think it's just the trend at the moment! at one point it was the maxicosi, now it seems to be all about the bugaboo chameleon and the icandy!

They're just lovely looking prams! They are expensive but I love my one! They don't really do anything special except look nice x

I even thought maybe they have built in speakers so you can listen to your music on your walk but couldn't get over how that wouldn't be good for poor babies ears......how far off the mark was i! doh! Damn you misleading name!! :dohh: :haha:

I've seen graco ones that have in iPod input and speakers near the handle but around here graco is known as pretty ghetto :(

Not sure about other models but I'm going for the peach. I used to sell buggies so have tested a few in my time.

The attraction for me is:

Very strong and sturdy with a 24 month warranty plus extra 6 months if you register on Icandy website so = 30 months compared to the usual 12 months.

I can have baby rearward or forward facing

And if I have another child I don't need to buy a whole new pram I can just add an adaptor and buy another seat unit and hey presto - double buggy!

And finally... it just looks pretty! LOL

people in my area are really into trendy pushchairs and i love a nice pushchair myself but i do think the icandy is way overpriced for what it is and having to buy separate bits just adds even more cost total rip off in my opinion x

I personally can't figure out the attraction :/ I just don't like the look of them, so I too was wondering if they did anything special!

In 2008 it was one of the very few pushchairs that allowed the child to be facing me, not forwards, and that was what I wanted - a chair that allowed me talk face-to-face to the child. He's 3 now and still doesn't want it turned forwards.

A few more do this now, so it's not as unique a feature, but back then I couldn't find another that had this.

I didn't buy any 'separate bits'. I got the pushchair and carrycot, and wheels/base, but researched and chose my car seat separately as it did not need to ever leave the car.

I needed a double and im not that good at steering that i trust myself to get around shops etc with a side by side.

I also didnt want to fork out for a double pram to then have to go and hunt for another single pram in a year or two when my eldest is walking all the time. The main appeal for me was being able to have a double i can use as a single now for my DS and then as a single again later for just DD. I also really loved the colour, we got the sweetpea and it just stands out for me against others as its so bright and funky.

Have to say thouhg i didnt buy it new i got it second hand as i couldnt really justify the cost to myself of a brand new one.

Good warranty, strong build, versatile, good height, pretty, works with carseat, good to steer, fairly narrow, decent basket.
I'm still deciding between this & Bugaboo Chameleon but think I'm going Bugaboo as its lighter. And it has a cup holder :-)

I always wanted a bugaboo chameleon as I loved the carrycot, seat size, the fact it was lightweight and way to manoeuvre.

And then I spotted the iCandy peach :)

I had a play with both the peach and chameleon and the peach was much more sturdy - plus I had heard negative things about the break cable snapping on the chameleons.

I love the fact it's rearward and forward facing and I can easily clip the car seat onto the frame which will be essential for the school runs!

And yes, it does look good!

And given this is my last child I wanted to splurge a bit! However I sold my phil and teds double for £300 so that money went towards the peach.

I have to say, if I hadnt of gone for this, I may have chosen the Oyster!

Soooooooooo pretty!!!!!!
I dont know much about prams, but i know i love the shape and the feel of the iCandy. Where i live you only really see Bugaboo or iCandy so these were my starting points!
