Okie so I just recently told my parents that im pregnant.. I was scared to tell them because my mom has said loads of times that she doesnt want to be a grandmother, and she was dead serious.. Plus my dad is VERY protective over me, even tho i am 18 and dont even live with them.. Thats why im not too sure why im so concerned what they think.. But now that ive told my parents they are acting extreamly happy for me and my boyfriend.. I seriously think they are faken it.. It just seems so unreal when i talk to them.. Before this they thought i was a virgin, then all of a sudden i come to them and say im pregnant.. I come from a family that doesnt believe an 18 year old should be pregnant....Its really bothering me that this bugs me, and i have no idea how to ask them about it.. Cause if they are truly happy for me and want this baby to be apart of their lives then i know they would be really offended. And if they are lying to me then that just sucks too.. What should I do ladies? should i just leave it and enjoy that they maybe just pretending to be happy for me..

If they are lyin, then they are prob doin it cos they care...
Would you really wanna no if they were fakin cos when my mum first found out i thought she was fakin but i was happy that she done it bcos it shows that they do care but just need time to adjust...spcially if they thought u were a virgin musta bin a huge shock.

xx

Why don't you just give them the benefit of the doubt? They will 110% love your baby when it's here.

yes hun do give them the benefit of the doubt... nd its probably better that they are excited... my mums not at all nd its been 10 weeks since i told her... she has refused to come to the scans twice. dont worry hun they love that baby already. XoXoXo

if they are lying at lest they are doing in because they care, some peoples parents would just be very angry and mad and not talk to them... but if they seem happy then let them be and enjoy it

Well let's put it this way - would you rather be lied to and be happy, or be told the truth and be miserable?;) I'd just enjoy it if I were you.

I don't think that many parents can hide their unhappiness/disappointment very well when they get this type of news, so my guess is that they are genuinely happy and excited for what's to come :)

My mum told me she didn't want to be a grandmother either, and now she's fine with it I guess. She just insists that she is GRANDMA and not NANA or anything lol

oh mum wasnt keen on the idea but now she is over the moon she cant wait xx

people change their opinions

They might be happy now its actually happened, my dad and mum were always against having a baby before marriage and young pregnancy, but since the day i told them theyve been happy and excited.

If they are luying, just let them be hun. They are obv doing it because they care and want to be there for you. x

Thanks ladies.. you really helped.. Ill just be happy that they care enough not to hurt me and put me through more stress..

So they are not those kinda people that think 18 yr olds should have babies ....BUT in reality your there daughter I bet they are thrilled you are carryin there grandchild you see even they wouldnt know how they truely would feel about this until it happened
hugs serina xxx

I told my parents about 2 weeks ago that im expecting. 2 weeks after i found out i was pregnant. i was REALLY scared about telling them, as im so young, and still in school, But i was surprised to find out that they are ok with it, and willing to support me. parents can be strange lol! I was expecting my parents to totally flip!
