Hey all,
Ever since I got my BFP (and also consequently started taking prenatals) I began getting tiny black flecks in my stool. The entire stool is not black so I don't think that it's blood (melana). Has anyone ever had this happen? Could it be caused by something in the vitamin that my body is not digesting well?

That could be from the prenatals... are you constipated? The iron can turn your stool black. I am not sure if it causes black flecks, but that is the only explanation I can think of for any black in the stool unless it is indeed melena.

If any of your prenatals have iron in it that's probably it. Iron, among being known for causing constipation can cause black stools. I wouldn't worry to much about it.

Yes I has the exact same thing. Another thing it can be is banana seeds. Weird but true. I use elevit and noticed for a couple of weeks the little black specs but they have cleared up now.

I had it when i first got my bfp... now im just constipated so i cant tell if its stopped or not lol
