Hey there,
Just a quick question, I had my second mc on Thursday both happened in exactly the same way, I go for dating scan, they find nothing on the scan my hcg is low then the next day I start to bleed..... what is the likely hood that my doctor or epu will look into this? I have seen around the boards that many women have been told that they wont get checked out until the 3rd mc... I dont think I could go through this again - I have two girls 10 and 8 and im figuring that a lot can change in ur body in 8 years??

If the mc's had happend differently I would be more likely to say maybe its just bad luck but they didnt *sigh* I dunno its so confusing :dohh:

I have no idea but didn't want to read and run. I had heard that about 3. Wishing you lots of luck and sending hugs x

Hi, I had two completely different kinds of miscarriages, so I am thinking/hoping they were just bad luck. I wasn't offered testing, but probably could have made a fuss because of my age. I am just TTC again fairly quickly.

There is no harm in going to your gp, some might send you for basic tests, as your two miscarriages were the same, I think you have a case, also if you are older they are more likely to send you to be tested.

I find that you have to see the GP who you know is more likely to listen to you, and they don't all do that. If you feel that you need some answers before you try again, I would see a GP and demand some basic tests.

Sorry for your loss. :hugs:

Well I am only 31 nearly 32 but they say things start to decline after 30?? meh I dunno I have the epu for a scan on thursday so will ask her there (she's not very nice, she likes to usher u in and out) if no luck I will go to my GP she's lovely :) thanks for your reply :hugs:

Hi, I have had one mc and my GP is going to run some basic tests as I had a few problems after and also didnt have a great experience at the hospital. I think if u push hard enough then you may get some help from GP.

HI Sweetie,

Usually, they won't look into anything till yuo've had a third m/c, gut-wrenching I know. If you have a good GP or EPU having a chat with them would be a good thing to do right now, if you get pregnant again they can do more tests then on hormone levels etc, but in the mean time huge hug from me

x

I had two miscarriages - both completely different - because of my age (39) had the tests done and found I had Prothrombin Gene Mutation and Natural Killer Cells.

I wouldn't have been tested if I'd been under 35 though.

I also hadn't had any previous pregnancies so they may look at yours differently.

Worth asking though.

Hi BeauD, if your GP is lovely I would go and see her. :hugs:

I would also go and see your GP if you like her better, I found alot of people were so cold towards me after a miscarriage I wanted to be around people who were sympathetic.

hi D, very sorry for your losses :hugs:

I had my 2nd mc last Friday and wont get tests until I have had 3, i think thats the rule throughout the UK tbh.

The good news is that we are a fertile couple, having got pg twice in a year. There are lots of ppl who have 2 mcs and go on to have successful pregnancies, I am sure we will be in that group, and if not at least the tests will be forthcoming

Have you looked into whether you can get tested privately?

I just got back from my gp and she was lovely and very helpful, although she cant refer me to a specialist just yet she has arranged for some basic bloods to be taken for lupus and such like :)

Although I got the this unfortunately happens to one in four pregnancy's ect ect she was extreamly sympathetic and lovely I was in there for a good 20 mins chatting through the possibilities with her, I must say I do feel better for seeing her
