I'm starting them tonight, on cd3. I'm taking 150mg a day, for 5 days, up to cd7.

Does anyone have any experience with soy? I've done my research and it's basically a natural alternative to clomid; it's used to shorten cycles by bringing ovulation forward, and making for a 'stronger' ovulation. When trying to find actual real-life results or stories though, I've struggled.

I've heard there can be side-effects like headaches and an upset stomach too. I do ovulate on my own but usually over cd25, making my cycles 40 - 60 days long! I'm desperate to shorten them, having only 7 fertile windows each year sucks :(

Thanks for reading :flower:

I did soy for the first time this cycle I'm now waitin to ovulate.... No side effects whatsoever but I've seen ppl say mention headaches most... My advise is to start off low n gradually move up giving you body time to adjust ... Also take them around the same time...n at night when ur about to sleep is the best time that way u would have less symptoms hope this helps... Keep me update n I will do the same... Hope you get a bfp this cycle as well!! Baby dust to u

Thank you for your reply Taylor! I took my first pill last night and all is a-ok so far. Feel free to PM me if you like, not sure this thread is going to be too active haha :)

Lol I can tell but we can still tlk here for a while ....had the closest thing to positive today so I guess I'll got a positive opk by tonight r tomorrow..... I'm glad you ok so far....I want a bfp so bad ...I have neverrr had one ...not even that I think I'm seein something always spark white...

I had a MC in January and it made me even more desperate for a baby...I just want to be pregnant again so much, I'll try anything at this point! Had some dizziness this morning which I'm attributing to the soy (I've heard it's a side effect) but otherwise still good.

does this version of soy have any relationship to edemame? I add this to my salads at lunch, hoping this is a good thing?

I'm not sure what edemame is to be honest...

Hi ladies! I don't take soy isoflavones but I've done a lot of research about it, so I'll share my findings. Any soy based food contains phytoestrogens which will act like Clomid. Clomid and Soy Isoflavones are actually estrogen blockers, they connect to the estrogen receptors and it tricks your body into thinking it needs to produce more estrogen.

I take Clomid and was thinking of taking Soy Iso as well, but Im afraid for 3 reasons: 1) since its not FDA reglated no 2 brands (or even 2 batches) are the same... so you can get bottles from the same company and they might work differently in different months, 2) it might work with my Clomid or it might actually work against it, 3) I have hypothyroidism, and if you have any thyroid issues you shouldnt consume soy because it affects thyroid function (Clomid affected my thyroid too bug time! so i didnt want to make it worse

You can take up to 200mg per day and you're supposed to take it for 5 days max. But I have read about girls who take it CD2-9, 3-10 and I' also read this article (more like a post) fromt his girl who was saying that unless you're consuming a minimum of 320mg per day of soy, it will make no difference..

That's the iffy part, there are no guarantees... it can work for or against you... Women normally take it to offset menopause symptoms... since they no longer ovulate their estrogen levels are low... Personally I would go with the 200mg max daily dose for 5 days...

Ah! 1 more thing! Just like with Clomid, if you start on the earlier days of your cycle, like cd 2-6 it will produce more follicles, if you start later, like cd5-9, it will produce more mature follies.. Thats why some women take it from Cd 2-9, so they get both... but soy isoflavones in excess can also result in infertility, so more is not better in this case.

Hope this helps!

Edamame is steamed soybean. We eat it a lot here in Hawaii as an appetizer... its really yummy!

It's becoming more and more popular here as well (New England) - you can definitely find it at any Japanese or sushi restaurant! It's delicious and good for you! I actually buy bags of frozen, already-shelled edemame at the grocery store for a couple of bucks and that's what I use to add to my salads each day.
Thanks for the detailed info, haleiwamama!

You're welcome! I love edamame too! Its delicious and super light and super easy to make. I buy them frozen too and just microwave the bag than add garlic, soy souce, sesame seed oil and something spicy like chili paste. It's delisssshhhh!! :)

Thanks for all the info!

I've been taking 150mg capsules, but on inspecting the bottle I've found they're only 40% soy, working out at 60mg. So tonight I upped my dose to 2 capsules (120mg total); I'll take the same tomorrow and Sunday and see what happens. Tempted to up the final dose to 180mg but I'll see how the 120mg affects me first.

Really hope it does something. As in, anything! If it makes my cycle longer at least I'll know to stay away. I tried Agnus Castus (vitex) a couple of years ago and it make my cycle over 60 days long - needless to say the bottle went in the bin after that...

Hi ladies. Just reading this with interest and pondering if I should try it next cycle, I am on cd7 so too late this month. I had a mc in December and I guess it does make you more desperate having had what you want more than anything and then to have it taken away :( So contemplating a new plan of action for next month but hoping as always this is my lucky month. I am taking dhea and coq10 as well as high dose of folic and various other vitamins just to maintain good health. Soy seems to get a mixed review and good reviews tempt me but the not so good scare me! Also If I was to take it can anyone tell me when as I don not want to shorten my cycles (they are already short)? Good luck all! :dust:

This is really interesting. I am currently on my first cycle after coming off birth control, and am currently on nearly cycle day 100! No sign of ovulation or AF yet...

I wonder if Soy Iso will help. Currently I am taking Vitex (2000mg), Pregnacare Conception (Zinc, B12, folic acid) and Metformin 750mg Daily.

Hi haleiwmame Thnks for the Info...
Bebvern I'm thinking like there is no one on this planet nowhere that want a baby more than me so I can relate to what your saying...according to ff I ovulated on cd 16 as I had my temp drop on cd 15 but it hasn't been 3 days to confirm it as yet... Are you finish with soy now??? Are u tempting( I hate this ) n doing opk ( I hate this even more.. Seein lines but no positive line is stress) hope you good btw... I SWEAR I WILL TRY IT ALL... IM DESPERATE!!! BAD!!

MsKitty, I think its a good thing your cycle is short, more chances to get the job done in a year... How short are they? Im sorry about m/c but on a more positive you know you can get pregnant so its a matter of time! ;)

Wtbam, I read on another post a lady saying that she stopped taking vitex because her cycle doubled in length.... maybe its doing the same for you. How long were you on birth control for? If I were you I would take nothing for a couple months at least... give time for your body to get rid of all toxins, hormones etc and find its balance... when you "learn" what your cycle is like then you start adding herbals or whatever else... Just a thought..

TaylorK, how long have you been trying for? Im super impatient too... it's been 1 year for me... Im considering doing in vitro... gonna find out today what it would cost if I went through with it... I can't wait any longer... its so disappointing every month, so much anxiety...Im emotionally drained...

Good luck to you ladies!

Taylork - yep finished with soy last night. We will see what happens over the next week or so! I had terrible skin this morning, wondering if this is a side effect or not. Otherwise feeling fine...come on body, do your thang!

Wtbam - i had stupid long cycles on vitex!! It just didn't work for me at all.

Haleiwamama I've been trying for about 9 months now I kno that not super long but I have had fiends not try or not one to conceive n they jus b double up therein family with no hassle ...I taut it would b that easy for me ...so I was takin bc to prevent that not knowing it wud b a problem... So tired but not giving up til I have a joy!

Bebvern I'm surprise u have bad skin ... I realised after I was finished with them my skin had never cleared better r faster ..,but Idk if it was that but I'm sayin it is... Since nothing else works everrr!!

Vitex totallyyyy had me in denial every month because of the gr8review I read n it did nothing but mess up my already messed up cycle... I had to buy dong quai to reintroduce my cycle after vitex ..I knew this method because it is what I used to jump start the cycle after my withdrawal bleed when stopping birth control...

Srry this is mad long but I wanted to get everything in!!!
N Good evening to all watchers who r thinking about joinin this thread but think we won't respond ..WE WILL!!! Loll
