Hey ladies! I am just wondering who has taken soy isoflavones and what the results have been?

I am on a rest cycle between IUIs and am desperate to try anything to increase my chances. I have had a few short (24 day) anovulatory cycles although it is not clear what the reason for this is. I do not have PCOS or endo.

I have heard that soy can help ovulation but is it just for people with PCOS or really long cycles? Is it safe to take regardless or should I stay away if I don't have any other issues or do ov occassionally on my own?

Hi mars
i've actually taken soy this month, so don't know what the results are yet, i'd heard from a few people that they'd got their bfp's when using soy, even people with unexplained. i just wanted to give iui my best shot and am hoping soy may have helped. i know some people don't want to mess with stuff, but i'm at the stage now where i'll try anything cos i really don't want to have ivf.

hth

xx

Hi Mars,

I am like Mrs Sunshine, it is my first month of it too this month - in fact I have just taken my last tablet today so we shall see eh! I read about it lots and about the success stories etc and figured that it was worth a go. I couldn't see that it could do any real harm!

Good luck to you too hun xx

I tried it for 3 months. CD 1-5 80mg

My ov pains were stronger than usual and my boobs were a lot more tender during my LP. I think they probably inceased my hormone levels all round.

I must admit, they made me feel very irritable on the days I took them tho, and I bloated up a around ov time.

I may take them again, I'm not sure. I did say never again, but I'm desperate for a BFP, so may change my mind on that... lol! x

Hey there,

This is also my first month of taking them. Im on my second day and taking 150mg.

:dust:

thanks for all your replies - I have decided to give it a go! The only ones I could find were multivitamins with isoflavones so will have to take 4, I hope my body doesn't mind the extra dosage of the other stuff! I will go to the health store tomorrow to see if I can find an isoflavone only supplement.

I am on cd3 so have decided to take them days 3 - 7, that seemed to be the most common window?

Good luck and babydust to everyone.

Hi Mars, good luck!! I've taken mine 3-7 too! Will let you know how it goes and if there are any changes etc xxx

thanks Peony, I will be really interested to hear how you get on.

Can I ask where people in the UK buy their tablets, I'm having trouble finding the supplements alone...

I got the Natures Aid ones from my local health shop (I'm not sure if I can post a link) if you google natures aid and then you can search for your local stockists in the site xxx

I got mine from foodsforhealth.co.uk xx

I got mine online at

https://www.vit-shop.co.uk/store/p/2509/1/FSC-Soya-Isoflavones-50mg-30-Tablets.html

They arrived within two days, with a free mouse mat

Ive also taken mine days 3 - 7

It will be nice to know how other people get on xxxxxxxxxx

Thanks all!! I managed to pick up some nature's aid ones today in the health food store. I feel much happier taking the supplement alone as I think I would have been overdosing on Vitamin A otherwise!

So I had 80mg yesterday, 100mg today and I am tempted to do 150mg for the last 3 days (I couldn't decide on a dose so thought I'd try them all!!) :haha: No side effects so far, I can't wait to start OPKs next week and see if it works!

i took 120mg days 2-6, and my ov was a day later than usual, but this was maybe cos i was a bit stressed about iui

good luck

xx

Can you take it on days 5-9 like clomid. I thought about adding it to my meds. All though I am not for sure yet.

Yeah i think you could it apparently 'natures clomid', so don't take it if you are on clomid!

Hi-
This is my second cycle on soy isoflavones. Last cycle I took days 2-6 about 75-100mg.

This cycle I took cd3-7 just shy of 200mg. Except for possible extra bloating and maybe extra ewcm (could have been other things) I haven't noticed any side effects at all.

Am too early in 2ww to know if it worked.

For the UK ladies, Tesco sell Soy Iso, I think it is between £3-£4 and is currently in 3 for 2. Think I will try it next cycle.

I took 120mg days 3-7 and didn't really notice any side effects. I have had great ewcm since Friday (cd14) and am still waiting for a +ve OPK although I think they're nearly there, hoping for a +ve this afternoon. That is really late o for me, hoping it's a good thing but am just grateful to know it's going to happen!!

My cycle will be a difficult to monitor properly this time unfortunately as I have to take norethisterone from cd21 in preparation for my next iui cycle. the hospital said it shouldn't affect my chances of getting pg as it is just progesterone but I'm not overly convinced!!

Good luck to everyone giving it a go this cycle, fingers crossed we catch that egg this time!!

I took it this cycle on days 5-9 at 200mg. On day 14 I had a butt load of ewcm. First time for me. I was so happy I think I did a dance out of the bathroom. Well I am currently in the last week of my tww. It is driving my crazy. I hope everything did okay.

I've had 2 cycles on soy (now on my 3rd). Got BFP both times but unfortunatly the pregnancys were chemicals :( But hey, it works and I ovulated :) First was 120mg 3-7 ov'd on CD24, and 2nd 200mg 3-7 and ov'd on CD28. I think I MC cos I ovulated so late both times and my eggs were crappy and old :(
