So I hate to ask this question, but I have to. Lately I have been in the mood ALL the time  But I also have pretty bad SPD, We DTD last night, and I could barely move after, or today. Does anyone have any tips, or positions, that work better with controlling the pain after sex with this? It's just not fair! :growlmad: :haha:

I spoke to my midwife on monday because I have been in agony with my stomach and described what was wrong and she thinks it could be SPD and she will check at my 34 week appointment, not long. But back to your question after having sex with my OH I am in agony, its painful. I find the best position is to be laid on your back, and to have your partner come in at an angle if this makes sense. Its hard to describe, so hes led on his side, but your on your back and thid way your not straining yourself and he does a lot of the work, this may sound lazy but these days this is all i can manage. Have a long hot bath after to relax your body and stomach it will make you feel better along with a couple of paracetomols. Theres noway Im giving it up just yet, enjoy it too much lol

Spooning is probably the least sore, or from behind as long as he's not putting too much weight on your pelvis and you're not having to do too much of the moving if that makes sense!

I made the mistake of going on top and I felt like I'd been split in half the next day

I'd say spooning! Thats what we try!! I'm still sore after, but not as bad as in other positions, lol!x

 leaning over the arm of the chair or over your birthing ball lol! both work really well and no pain afterwards lol! If you havent got a birthing ball or if you would rather not DTD over your furniture then doggy style on a hard surface, put a soft mat under your knees for comfort and put pillows under your bump to take the weight, on the bed is proabably the worst place as 2 people weight in 1 place tends to take away all the support from the mattress... have fun! xxxx

ETA:d ont let him put any weight onto your hips or back, make sure he keeps his hands to himself, or another part of your body if he can reach lol! Dont go too rough and dont get up straight away afterwards, slowly ease yourself upright xxx

Thanks everyone - we do doggy a lot as it's easy to stay away from the bump lol but usually do it on the bed. We will have to try it somewhere else! Also will have to try spooning - sometimes it's like god I'm in the mood and could hump a wall (not really, lol, but you get my drift ;) ) but I think about the pain after and it's like eh, is it worth it? :haha:

i lie on edge of bed, with my bum half off it and my dh stands in front of me, that way i can either keep my legs together (ankles over his shoulders) or feet on floor. We sometimes do it on the dining table liek that too (dont worry i clean it afterwards lol!)

I think there will always be a bit of pain involved in having sex, but i just take some paracetamol and get on with it, i can cope with pain for sex.

I just can't :( sex makes me very sore down below anyway but mixed with the SPD I just can't bare the pain afterwards and the following day! So over the past 8 months have prob only had sex 5 times!
:(

We make good use of the end of the bed. Me bending over it works sometimes if I'm not too sore, but laying on my back and putting my feet over his shoulder/s is a favorite. Just get up slowly afterwards. :winkwink:

Also, you can lay on your side and have your bum sticking off the bed a bit. He may have to hold your legs up, but you should be able to keep them together which should help with any pain! :haha:

Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction - it causes pain in the pelvis, for example when rolling over in bed, etc.

Thanks everyone for the tips! Hopefully we can work something out soon! ;)

Spooning and doggy are best =P, No spreading the legs lol my physio told me that's a big no no. Any position which spreads your legs wide is only going to aggravate your spd, so stick to positions that keep your legs somewhat close ^^. xoxo

Im suffering a little from SPD too.. waiting for physo.. & we spoon at the moment :).. OH also gives me a massage on my hips and lower back afterwards which i find helps in the morning or afterwards.. It hurts whilest he's giving them to me but worth it without the pain for the rest of the day!
Good Luck :D
