I had SPD with my previous pregnancy and towards the end was on crutches as in so much pain (I could feel my bones grinding).

I have it again with this pregnancy and its kicked in sooner and is so painful.

I've had a physio appointment and have a follow up in a few weeks and have exercises to do but in so much pain. I wake up at nights when I move now and really struggling in the morning.

Anyone else got/had this and have any tips? Feel like I'm just popping pain killers all the time.

I do not have SPD, nor do I have any tips for you. I just did not want to read and run. I hope you are able to find some answers and feel better soon!

Following as I'm pretty sure I have developed it. Really struggling with the pain x

Sorry you are struggling with it already hun, it's awful. I feel your pain! I had SPD with my last two and it's started again this time. I find walking after sitting for a while excruciating already but I find if i pull myself up straight and adjust my posture when i stand up, after the initial pain it eases. Posture is really important with SPD. Slouching or arching the back too much with irritate it. As for sleeping, I always have a couple of pillows between my knees in bed. Always! It keeps your pelvis aligned and definitely aides with sleep. Don't try to roll over in bed quickly and don't lift yourself off of the bed as you roll. Keep the pillows between your legs as you do it to support your pelvis. Dont sit with your legs crossed or spread too far apart.

Unfortunately you'll likely get it with every pregnancy now. It's really not nice but it's all worth it :) there used to be a support thread on here but that's going back 4 years. Worth searching incase its still going.

I had this last pregnancy and it's just started the last few days... it feels worse than the last time aswell so I'll be following this post to see what other mummys suggest x

Me too!! Had it with my first pregnancy from 28 weeks, but showing signs of it starting again already and I'm only 16 weeks!! Waaah!!

Have got a physio appointment in a couple of weeks and I've found my belt from last time so wearing that when I need to do a lot if walking.

Chiropractor adjusting my hips is the only thing that's helped me.

Maternity belt and physical therapy exercises helped very temporarily in the beginning but not since.

After an adjustment I end up feeling really good for at least a solid month. I'm due for another one here this week, I can definitely tell it's time.

Yeah. On my 3rd pregnancy. It was bad the first time and excruciating the 2nd time. It didn't go away after the birth of my 2nd and it has become much, much worse this time. I have my wheelchair and crutches ready :(

I don't think anyone understands just how bad it is.

Yeah, these are the sort of times I found, although I could feel it starting about 12 weeks and sorted an appointment out. I can't even walk much now to use the belt.

This is what worries me. I was on crutches the last month and had to bring my maternity forward a month as I was so bad. I didn't get any of the stuff done that I wanted in the lead up to the baby coming.

I've already booked my maternity to start November, but now so worried about how bad I will be. Add to that there's the chance we may be moving Oct/Nov time and I'm already stressing!

SPD sucks

SPD sucks

It sure does. I was hoping to have a 4th but I get the feeling I am going to be left with very bad spd after giving birth this time. It was still bad 12 months after the birth of d2s when I fell pregnant with this one so I'm dreading it.

Hi
I feel ur pain, I tuk it at 22 wks with my last, was n complete agony until delivery!
I had no idea I was pregnant this time around until over 9wks, but had horrible pains and said tonhubby I feel like spd startin again. I'm now 18+3 & the pain comes n goes but is horrible, hate wen my bones grind and click makes me feel physically sick, im prob gonna be delivered early becus this wil b my 5th section
The only painkillers im allowed bloody paracetamol
xx gud luck

Mine is just starting. I did an aqua aerobics class last week which left me crippled the next day so now I do the class but try not to move legs far apart. Bit embarrassing getting out done by all the old dears! Midwife sent off for physio appt which is better than last time when I was told it was normal pain for weeks and weeks.

Have any of you tried getting someone to massage your lower back with a tennis ball? Really helps! X

I had it really bad with DD and was signed off work from 27 weeks. I can feel it starting already this time around!

I think I may have this. Getting up I get sharp pains right across my pubic bone. In the mornings especially it feels like I can feel the bones in my lower back grinding. At the minute it seems to be just the pains when getting up or turning over in bed or moving position while sitting, once I start walking around it's ok.

Does it sound like this? I had something similar with my last pregnancy (this is my third) but never mentioned it as just put it down to normal pregnancy aches and pains. Does it sound like I need to be contacting my midwife?

Xx

My midwife has just put a referall through for me to see the physio. The last few weeks I've been feeling niggles however on Sunday I got sent to hospital from work as I was in so much pain I could barely walk.

I'm hoping they will be able to do something to help as the pain has been excruciating, especially after a 12 hour shift, I can't even walk up the stairs to bed :( xx

I have this. Started about half way through my first pregnancy, went away after I had him, and now it has already started up this time and I am only 14wks. First time around it only seemed to be terrible when I would turn over in bed and when I would get up at night to go pee my 10 freakin times a night, but a pillow between the legs made that a bit better. This time it isn't awful YET, but I can tell its probably gonna get pretty rough here soon. Went to my step class (which I haven't been to since becoming pregnant due to ms) last week and OMG!!! I was hurting later that night, but when I woke up the next morning I was in agony and could barely walk for two days :/ It hurt so bad. Now I'm just waiting for it to kick in full force soon smh.
