Those numbers are a bit low, but nothing really bad. You want to aim to get the motility to above 50%.
Bird posted some great info re: vitamins. Our specialist specialises in male factor infertilitly and told us to get DH on zinc, Vit C, folic acid and a few others, we just bought a mens multi V which had them all in it.
As far as testing, get another one done in 3-4 weeks, then perhaps another one done in 3 months to see if diet and lifestyle changes have affected him much. A naturopath might be a good idea too to give him a detox.
There has been great results of men making changes and taking the vit/mins boosting everything up. I think its only when its all really low (like my DH) that diet can only do so much.
You holding the sample wouldn't have done anything, you're supposed to hold it in your hands or pocket or somewhere to keep it warm.
How long did he abstain for before the test? Its supposed to be 3 days, no more and no less, so if it was for say 2 or 4 days then the results probably read worse than what they are.
