Hi ladies. Looking for reassurance and similar experiences. I had a fairly big bleed at 14 weeks and went to hospital. All was fine with baby and cervix was closed so they just put it down to unexplained bleeding and told me to take it very easy. No lifting or exercise or even walking. Fine. But I have had a little bit of dark spotting every day since, now more than two weeks. My dr is out of the country and so am I. Her nurse said I should try to see a dr as it isn't exactly normal but my only option here is to go to ER which seems a bit extreme. Has anybody else had continuous spotting and did you find out what caused it?

Im sorry I cant help, but didn't want to read and run. I dont have any experience with bleeding during pregnancy but im sure someone wilk pop in soon who can help.

well I spotted throughout my first trimester. And at 21 weeks shes doing quite well in hete rolling and bouncing around. But as soon as I was 12 weeks the bleeding stop. But they weren't able to tell me what was the cause of the spotting. But as long as you don't feel any cramping then I wouldn't worry.

Thank you for responding. After talking to friends last night I went to the hospital today - and left again after being told there is an 8 hour wait to see the dr. !!!
I might try again on Monday as it has now been almost 3 weeks of daily spotting.

It sounds a lot like a subchorionic hemorrhage (I don't know if I got that name quite right, lol). Basically, a bundle of blood vessels in the uterine wall leak and create a pocket of blood. Most of the time, it's benign and won't harm baby or you. I am surprised, though that they didn't do an ultrasound. All of my friends and my SIL who have had this had an ultrasound that saw it there. They had an initial gush of blood, with some spotting for a little while after.

When is your next OB/MW appointment? Call the office if it isn't soon and ask to be seen there. They should be able to work you in for a same day/next day appointment. (Hopefully! I don't know how these things work where you live)

I had two ultrasounds after the first bleed but they never mentioned anything of the sort. Do those always show up on the scans?
I don't have the option of going to my OB as I am abroad for 6 weeks so ER is my only option. :(
Thanks for responding, it sounds logical if that's what it is.
