Spotting at 5 weeks, really worried

I'm almost 5 weeks pregnant and I started spotting last night before bed. It was a little more than a drop or two, I'd say it was about two thumbs wide and long on the tissue, I know TMI. Then this morning when I went to the bathroom I had a couple more nickel size drops. I'm so worried I'm about to miscarry. I don't have any cramping but I also haven't had really any pregnancy symptoms. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm suppose to see the doctor today but they said there isn't much they can do as they wouldn't be able to see anything on the ultrasound.
