Spotting...implantation? ovulation?

Im irregular so i dont know exactly when to expect af or when i ovulate but i am on cd 34. I usually expect my period between cd 38-40 as of the last 3cycles.

The other day I went to wipe and there was a spect of red blood but went to wipe again and there was nothing. It wasn't much but there was clear mucus with it. Now if it were af, then I would have had pinkishbrownish spotting w/cm mixed in and then the next day af. Never do I spot a week before. Now this spotting threw me off way off. What happened to me? could someone give me insight of what it could be?

I also, have a fertility monitor (ovacue) that i have not starting using yet b/c it says to use the cd2-4 of your cycle. The funny thing is before I bought the fertility monitor I joked w/my dh and said that it was going to be a waste of $250 if I got pregnant before I was able to use it.

We both have around the same longgg cycles. I always thought implantation occurs between 6-10 DPO? Not sure if its different for longer cycles.

Thanks you, im very confused with implantation.. I've done a search for it and it made my confusion even worst! lol. Everyone seem to experience implantion differently.
