stage 3 teats,when?

im using AVENT bottles and at the moment joshua is still on stage 2 teats but once you wind him he wont take the rest of the bottle,he just screams.

i tried stage 3 teats a few weeks ago and he drank the bottle really fast.

do you think its time for stage 3?

Chloe has used the vari flow ones since she was 2 months and they were definitely the best for her, she has more control over how fast it comes out and sometimes she wiil have 7 oz in 5 minutes and other times it will take 20

I use tommee tippee bottles however im sure all the different branded teats follow a age scale...it basically goes like this...

Slow flow...from birth
Medium flow...from 3months
Fast flow...from 6months

But if your bubs is happy then do what you think is right hun xxx

yeah the stage 3 teats say for babies 3 months and over.

joshua is 3 months but does this mean he will be ready for the stage 3's?

how do i know?

Tabs has been on teats for 6mth plus since 6-7 weeks old as her feed is sooo thick.
When you hold bottle upside down it should be a steady drip drip drip and when feeding you should be able to see milk at the corner of bubs mouth

We had the problem with Hannah screaming and not taking the rest of the bottle and we simply stopped winding her between and just wind her at the end of her bottle now. It hasn't affected how much she eats and she still burps well.

the last 2 bottles hes had hes had it with stage 3 teats and he dribbled abit but not much.

i went to wind him and sat him up and he burped straight away.

Erin is 4 months and I still use the Avent no.2, I never even thought about moving her up to 3, maybe I should. She seems to drink her bottles fine though.

i remember asking the same question a while back, i have found when they are getting frustrated then its time to switch. we switched from avent to mam's when she was about 10 weeks and thats when she went to stage 2 teats, seems happy on them for now, go with your instincts honey x

I´ve just made the swapover to level three avent teats and he´s taken to them fine. I hadn´t realised to be honest that it might be time to change them - oops. Just try him with the level three teats with a couple of bottles and see how he does. Since I´ve changed I´ve noticed Sam seems to prefer to down the bottle in one and have a big winding session right at the end of the bottle instead of burping him inbetween. He doesn´t seem to have much wind as a result of this. So big thumbs up to level three teats!

hi toby does that with his feeds sometimes when we burp him half way through and then he will fuss with the 2nd half so I tried him with the stage 3 teats and sometimes he is ok but other times he acts like it is choking him so im not sure either!!
