Starting month 9 of TTC #1

Hi everyone! I am new to this site. My husband and I have been TTC for 9 months now- no losses. We have used PreSeed for all 9 months, use a pillow to elevate pelvis after and chart BBT. HELLLPPPP!!! When I contacted my doctor last month, they blew me off bc of my age....frustrating to say the least. My mother's sister couldn't have children and I am worried that I am following that path. Am I missing something here? Should I be pushy and contact a specialist without my OB's reference? Advice?

The general rule is that in order to be taken seriously and to start getting infertility work ups, you'll need to have been trying for 1 year (or 6 months if you're over 35.)

I'm on month 8 and have similar fears, I have an aunt that tried for 13 YEARS to have a baby (she finally did, thank goodness!) It sucks but sometimes it just takes time. And if things don't happen within the next 3 months, then your doctors will listen and you'll be able to get testing done. Hopefully it doesn't come to that though!

Hey Hopeful, are your cycles regular? Ive been ttc 10 months now but my cycles are long and i think this may be wherein the problem lies for me! Im waiting until after xmas and going to see the doctor for advice then if nothing has happened. Btw, you say they blew you off b/c of your age - how old are you if you dont mind me asking? Im 26 but still worried they wont be interested in helping me, i hope im just being paranoid!!! xxxxx

Hi ladies.
i am 22 years old and have been ttc for 9 months now. I accutally visited the doctor the other day becuase i have irregular periods and was having some severe cramping and was hoping i was preggo because i missed my period in october but thats not suprising for me. I also thought they would not be worried about anything because of my age. but to my suprise they were concerned. She gave me an exam that day . scheduled me for blood work and a ultra sound . Said she felt fullness on my right side.. maybe a cyst? and said pcos might be a problem.... but i was very happy she listened to my story and was willing to run test to help me!... so maybe they will listen to yall as well .... hoping to figure out the problem so we can finally have our little one!

My cycle is also long since coming of the pill, about 35-40 days. I don't mind you asking, I'm 25- will be 26 in Feb. They did blow me off and referenced my age and tell me to take my time. I was so irritated! I think after the holidays and no luck I will demand tests, if they say no, I will move on to a doctor that will. Im concerned my aunts issues will haunt me

We just started our 8th cycle trying to conceive and I understand how frustrating it is, but try not to think/worry about your aunt issues. My RE told me that most couples will conceive within the first 9 months of trying. She's willing to work with patients after those 9 months have passed. So I'm sure there are others out there like her. I'm sure you can find someone to help you. But try and stay positive, you probably won't even need to see a specialist because your is right around the corner.

- my fiance and i have been trying for 15 months now and my ob office kind of did the same thing. since im twenty years old they kind of just told me oh keep trying and didnt even consider anything i tolf them about my cycles. i think you should just keep doing what your doing now and then once that one year date hits contact a specialist.

someone else on the site also told me that 98% of couples concieve within two years, hopefully i'll be part of that and so will you

Hi again, iv'e booked in with my doctor for this friday and i'm so nervous they wont help me! My cycles are long too (anywhere from 34-45 days) this month iv'e gone 37 days so far and dont feel like my period is on its way just yet! Its getting ridiculous. I think i'm going to take my boyfriend in as he is a bit pushier than me and i could do with some support if they try and blow me off.

I agree with you though, if they wont do anything i think its time to move to a doctor who will! xxxxx

Good luck this Friday! I say stand firm, at least they gave you an appointment. My doctor didn't even let me get that far, just spoke over the phone. I would be interested in what your Dr. has to say, seeing how we seem to be on the same path. I have recently read a lot about the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor, it is a little pricey, but had amazing reviews. I think I will purchase this week. You should also look into the reviews out there for the product and see if it fits your needs. I am expecting AF any time now...of course before Thanksgiving, just in time to get me down!
