Hi everyone - Just thought I'd ask when everyone plans to begin their nursery decorating?
We've got quite a lot to do as the walls need plastering etc so we are trying to get it started soon - just struggling with reliable plasterers?
Has anyone done theirs already?
I'm worrying as I want to enjoy helping but don't want to be too big when we're working on it.

Whar do you all think?
:hugs:

hi

we just finished our nursery last week, like you our walls needed replastered too. i found i was still able to help just had lots of little breaks and sat on a cushion to paint round the skirtings and things and left oh to the higher bits x

I really want to start mine. I think it's pretty certain we will be staying here now to after LO is born but I'm still not sure about decorating a nursery because then knowing my luck we'll end up moving.

I was thinking of just getting some of those wall stickers which you can remove. The room is already painted cream and has a new carpet. Just need to put some things in there now. :happydance:

We're thinking the same as you - just stay cream and decorate with bit of colour - but by looking, you're much further along than I am. Do you think it's too soon to start? Is it bad luck? xx

We're in a rented house, and fortunately our spare room was decorated as a nursery when we moved in. I guess it must have been a sign! So we have to do very little really :)

Now we know it's a boy we can at least do it with cream and blue with a few odd's and end's that are blue :) But not sure whether to wait to see what he likes when he is a few months old and finish it then with that kinda theme *if that makes sense lol*

We have started as well. I have a load of stuff in the baby's room right now, and we are going to start moving it out today. I need to get the room painted by the end of the week, as we are having new carpet put down. We fostered kittens for a year in that room, so the carpet is a bit ick. Once I have that done, I will order the wallpaper that I want to use on one of the walls. Then I will start on fabrics. The furniture is on order, and has been since christmas. It could be here any time from the end of this month to the end of April. I also have a few bits of art i need to frame. But I am just going to take my time.

Since we don't know what we are having, I have decided to decorate the room how I want. Neither of us are into the cutsie baby decor, so I am doing fun and funky.

Here is the thread I started with all that I am doing

We won't do ours until the very end. If we are still living where we are now (and we probably will be) we are going to have to clear out our office (not fun!) and try to figure out what to do with the two computers we own and the shelf that's in here.

We are starting ours this weekend. I'm VERY excited about it! I want to get it done before I get huge!

We're starting as soon as the weather warms up a bit so we can ventilate as we paint the room. We have the crib and changing table set up, so it's a start.

We bought our moses basket yesterday, its so lovely, I cant stop looking at it! I was so excited buying it, i felt really silly. I cant wait to start buying more stuff now!

Ahhhhh we now have the baby's room cleaned out. Now I just have to motivate and get to painting.

We've just started to clean out the nursery last week and this week we started doing the walls. We need to damp proof, so have put a layer of that paint stuff on. Hope to get to painting within the next few weeks.

I also have ALOT to do in our spare room so we are starting about April, Got to paint 2 colors and i want chair rail in there and new carpet too so i dont think its too bad to start early and be ready with the room after your baby shower you can put things together in there, thats what we are doing. We currently live in a 1 bedroom apartment...:hissy: which hopefully will be changing as soon as I go back to work... (Our one bedroom where we live is $1550, and we cant afford to bump that up to $1800 for a 2 bedroom yet). Luckily we still have got lots of space, these apartments are pretty spacious. We've converted our bedroom into a semi nursery... have her bassinet, changing table, and dresser set up waiting for her. And getting our glider any time now.. I cant wait til we can afford to move so I can decorate a beautiful nursery for her!

i hope to start ina few weeks. Once I'm past the 20 week scan and am sure all is as it should be....I may be starting early..but I know I'ma slow worker!! Also, it means me re-homing my wardrobe which will take me some time..
