Starting SMEP Again join in guys SMEP TTC#1 June/July(2BFPs)/Aug thread

Good afternoon (or whatever part of the day it is where you are). I went to my ob gyn appointment today. Basically she said that dh is going to have a SA and I will have a HSG this cycle coming up. I believe my dh will have his SA while AF visits and then I will have my HSG cd 7-10 depending on my work schedule. She said women have an increase chance of fertility post HSG so we will do that cycle as we have been naturally. The following cycles depend on the results, if everything is good we will try clomid or Femara. If I am blocked monitored and medicated iui. If something is wrong on the sa we will do iui with wash. And if the tubes are blocked and or low sperm count ivf. I am excited to finally have the ball rolling again. Hopefully I won't need any of this but if I do there is a plan in place.

That's exciting future!! Yeah you're right it's nice to have a plan or something to look to, rather than just shooting in the dark lol...

So how's Japan? Is the base totally an American society or are you off base?

So how's Japan? Is the base totally an American society or are you off base?

i lived in japan for almost 7 years before even meeting my husband, so i was full-on living in japan on my own for those years. then we met, got engaged, and married on paper last summer but he has to live on base, so i didn't really have much say if i wanted to be with him (welcome to the military right?) so we live in a 9 story apartment building on base. base really is like a mini-america, for better or for worse...i had some serious reverse culture shock at first.

unfortunately, base is quite out of the way from where i have spent the last 7 years, so i miss the way things used to be in that sense. it's just more hassle to go into tokyo, see friends, do stuff, shop, etc.

but, i guess that's what you do for love right?:haha:

are you able to live off base with your husband? or on base?

gaaaaaaahhhhhh:wacko::wacko::wacko:

didn't get a good (read: not the same time as usual) temp reading today and my number changed my entire chart. FF took away my cross hairs and now i'm back to predicted O on CD17.:dohh::dohh:

am trying to stay positive and, in the whole scope of things, i think our schedule means we're still in it...? fingers crossed. with BD on 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, we may have "accidentally" SMEPed...?:haha:

sorry, not sure where that puts me on the first page list but my cycle is usually 28-30 days and i'm on CD14. whether or not i've ovulated seems to be up for debate with FF:roll:

lol after seeing ur chart it looks like ur not recording ur temp around same time everyday ..so dont worry hun ..for the FF whatever it predicts let it be as u seem to be enjoying ur bd sessions so keep going on ..as thats what counts..and u surely seems to be doing more than smep lol...but are u doing anything other than temping like opks ??

so on the first page I have put u under july cycle..cuz thats when u joined..there are three members in tww..or in waiting stage..

CD8-CD12 were all between 4:00am and 4:20am, so if there are circles in those days, it's because i'm a crap sleeper and had to check "sleep deprived." but the times are all pretty close.

the last 2 days are circles because of the times. 3:35 on CD13 and 5:50 on CD14. am annoyed and frustrated for turning my 4am alarm off this morning, but i also realize that's not gonna change anything. but weird that i would get a much lower reading at a much later time...no?

i'm not doing anything more than temping. this is really our first cycle of actively trying (was NTNP last month) so sorta seeing how it goes before stepping up our TTC game:winkwink:

Pearly have you gotten a positive opk yet??
What about you jumpingo??

Mine was getting darker last night and was the same as the control line this morning so I think I'll be o'ing today or tomorrow :)

jumpingo: ahh I see, I bet it was a bit of a shock to go back on base. Not only did you "move back to America" but military America, which is really 'Murica!! lol...
I've never lived on base, when we were dating dh moved off base into an apartment building (he was sick of the barracks, no wonder lol) and then we moved in together in another place closer to base, then he got stationed in Cali so we bought a house baout an hour from base and he commutes (totally his choice, I tried to get him to move closer to base!). Which sucks but we do have a beautiful house instead of a tiny apartment, which we would have gotten for the price of the house closer to base!

FF gave me cross hairs, took them away and then put them back, so as long as they don't go away again, i'm at 6DPO but it's only CD16, so just hanging out, twiddling my thumbs.:coffee:

my family is coming to visit soon, so i'm trying to get ready for that, while procrastinating writing thank you notes from our wedding (am half way done...) and getting the house in order. it's been over 6 months and we still have a handful of boxes here and there:dohh:

the longer i've lived in japan (even before getting married) the farther i went from the heart of tokyo. i would spend the same amount that my downtown-living friends were spending for about 3-4 times the size. obviously, it's tokyo so the apartments are already glorified walk-in closets, so 4 times that isn't that much in the whole scope of things, but having a space you enjoy once you are home and IN it is worth a bit of a commute, i think. (23 year old me cannot believe what 31 year old me is saying...:haha:)

Oh please girl, don't even talk to me about getting the house in order... gahh! So much stuff, and we don't have any shelves or anything! It's a problem, really, but at least we have a couple of extra rooms where we can stuff everything and close the door :haha:

Wow you sure ovulate early! I'm cd15 and I'm just now hoping to ovulate!

Hahaha poor 23 year old you is just looking at you like this
I've never minded driving a bit but an hour is kinda far to go back and forth every day! If it was me I think I'd have wanted to be at least half an hour closer.
How long does he have left in? Planning to move state-side any time soon?

my family isn't even coming to our house, but the boxes really drive my husband crazy. and most of them are my stuff:blush: plus, looking around when everything has a home feels nicer and makes me happy (gotta enjoy it now before kids when the house won't be clean for at least 18 years!:haha:)

i was (am?) really skeptical of the CD10 O date too...but it's my first month charting anything, so i don't have anything to compare to. but until now i have always had 28-30 day cycles, so if i regularly ovulate at CD10, it makes me think i would have shorter cycles. a 20 day LP sounds really long...?

yeah, it's easier in japan because everyone in the city commutes by train, so you can multitask and use the commute to do all kinds of things. if i was driving, i think 30 minutes would be my max too. props to your husband:thumbup:

he has at least 2 years, then he'll be able to get out if he wants or re-enlist. depends on the day whether he says he wants out ASAP or toys with the idea of staying and trying to go to europe or alaska or, for me, choosing to stay here another tour (actually, he rarely says that but he knows i would love to stay in japan in some form). that's another "we'll see!" topic in our house yet...

Luks like u guys having great time chit chatting here on this thread wow!!
Sorry m not able to read the whole post of yours as m not getting Enuf time as m all into my hubby's bday prep so tail be Ov in coming days it should be around five days from now n u guys have already ovulated or about to yayyyy to smep hope we are all following well lol... Let's not leave any scope for the Eggie to escape!!
Do guys sat m leaving for the holiday and will b back on tue and hope by that time we will be in our tww so catch u guys soon !! Good luck lovelies!!

Oh have fun pearly! :happydance:

I'm counting today 1dpo since I got a positive opk on Wednesday night so I should have o'd yesterday or this morning :)
We're not able to bd today cause my dh got peppersprayed at work (for training) and it takes a while to work its way out of his body. But we bd'd twice yesterday, morning and night ;) lol

jumpingo that's the same with my dh, he get's out in 4 years and if he makes a certain rank by then he might as well stay in, but at the same time he wants to get out - some days... lol sounds like you know how it goes :)

As for the LP it should be 12-14 days, anything more than 18 I've seen somewhere is out of the norm I guess, but please look it up, I can't remember exactly what it said. But I looked it up because mine is pretty long, around 15-16 days.

there doesn't seem to be a lot of info on problems with long LPs...at least not in 2 pretty brief google searches. am not gonna worry too much just yet but also think it just means my period will come earlier this month. hopefully it doesn't come for 9 months so it won't be an issue :winkwink:

fingers crossed for all of us!

hope you have a nice holiday pearly!

just stopping in...
am 8DPO and had a big temp spike this morning and then some snot-like CM...some googling and searching on the boards got my hopes up. might cave and buy some HPTs today at the store.

how's everyone else going?

Ooh sounds promising!! Keeping fx for you hon :dust:

I'm good much more relaxed this cycle than I was last month, I'm 2dpo now so I still have some ways to go before I can start testing.

relaxed is good:thumbup:

i am more invested this time around so am nervous about testing.

was more of the same today. temp stayed high, CM is the same...

i held off yesterday, but think my husband is buying a test on his way home and once it's in the house, it doesn't really stand much chance:dohh::haha:
