My liitle'un has been suffering with static growth over the past two months or so...
Her weight is going up - last week she was 3lb 7oz, yesterdy she was 3lb 13 or 15oz, they say her tummy has the static growth but on the chart she is just above the lower level that she should be. My placenta is fine and so is my umbilical cord so she is getting nourishment from me.

One consultant is really concerned because being diabetic she should be on the bigger size and the other consultant is saying that she is just a smaller baby but is growing.

I have to have weekly doppler scans to check the umbilical cord and if she soesnt grow then i will have to be induced early, i was also told to keep an eye on her movemnts and not wait more than the 12 hours between movemnets.

Im really concerned, everything else about baby is fine she is growing shes just smaller than they would expect.

Its making me paranoid.

hi,
My sister-in-law has the same problem. We just came to know that her gestational growth is lagging by 1.5 weeks. She is 33 weeks the baby shows only 31.5 weeks growth. The blood flow to the baby and the nutrition flow are all intact. I really wonder if everything is fine, why baby shows slow growth. Doctors say they can not help much. Doc put her on asprin (ecosprin) for 2 weeks. It may help.
My sister-in-law had the same problem during her first pregnancy and they induced her at 37 weeks since baby girl was not growing any more but the baby's organs were all developed well. My Niece is now 5 years but she is small. We were hoping that this time everything goes well :(
I dont mean to terrify you hun. I am just worried and confused why this happens. Take care and stay positive. Please let know your progress.

I myself am pregnant with many other complications. 30+3 weeks now and counting days.

Take care
Vasu

btw, the baby's weight is not growing up as much as it should be.
