Sterilising question

How long do bottles stay sterilised for? Once you have sterilised them and they stay in the steriliser how long before they should be done again?

It depends on what steriliser you have?

My tom tip elec one stays sterile for 24 hours if lid kept on

my Avent microwave one is 24 hours too with lid kept on i think most are 24 hours x

My tommee tippee microwave one is 24 hours too so I think most will be.

mine is a bruin (toys r us) electric one but dont have the instructions anymore?

Does anyone know what actual risks there are if you don't use a sterilised bottle within the prescribed time? Our child health nurse told us the other day that you sterilise bottles and cups to get rid of any bacteria from the milk. Which makes sense. But I always wonder what harm storing an empty sterilised bottle for longer in a sealed contained such as a tupperware tub would do?
