I am just back from a consultant's appointment and due to me having GD they are admitting me to hospital next week (when I will be 30+5) to have some steroid injections in case baby needs to be delivered early. I am not too worried about this as I am sure they know best, but just really wanted to hear from some other people who had had the same. I am going to be kept in for at least 48 hours as I'll need an insulin drip for the GD, as apparently the steroids send the blood sugar sky high.

Would love to hear from anyone who has had the same and can reassure me!

I had this I was admitted at 34 and 1 day for eclampsia. It was absoloutly fine the steriod injections do sting though! The drip was fine :) don't worry about it xxx

I had steroid shots at 26 weeks and I'm a diet controlled gestational diabetic. The first shot sent my sugars up to 200 mg/dL (not sure what that is in your measurements). I was very symptomatic but the doctor told me to wait it out and let him know if it reached 250. My sugars stayed high for 24 hrs. Then I got my second shot and my sugars spiked again for 24 hours then they went back to normal. It was just the 48 hrs of high sugars that was hard because I felt very tired and drunk.
