Hi all. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat. I used to go for runs (10-11 min miles, nothing crazy) before getting pregnant. Ended up losing the baby and having a D&C July 24 when I was supposed to be over 11 weeks. I've tried to get back into exercise over the last month, and usually even when I hadn't gone running for months I could get back into it pretty easily after a week or two. But now I haven't even been able to run a mile straight. It's more like walk/runs. Some days are better than others, but it's really frustrating. I haven't gone super hard core but this amount of difficulty is abnormal. My muscles just burn or have no energy and I have to stop and walk.

Thinking I might have to get more serious and do leg strengthening workouts between run days of something. Just wondering if this is common. I don't feel sluggish or tired during normal everyday stuff, just no power in my muscles.

Thanks!

I didn't want to read and run, but I'm sorry you are dealing with this, and I'm so sorry for your loss. :hugs: I have had two d&c's this year and found that I was pretty pooped for about a month afterwards. Pregnancy takes a lot out of you, and especially if you made it all the way to 11 weeks, your blood volume increases, etc. I found that I had to baby myself for about a month afterwards, focus on nutrition, long walks instead of runs, etc.

However, you said your d&c was at the end of July, so I wonder if something else is going on? Could you go to your regular doctor and have him/her run blood tests to make sure everything is okay. What you're describing could be thyroid, or anemia, or something like that. Or do you possibly think you could be pregnant again? What your describing sounds like first trimester stuff too. Again, I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope you get your fitness back. :flower:

I would say maybe you're anemic after losing so much blood. I'm still dealing with anemia since my mmc in July, especially since my periods have been extremely long ever since and I've been having a lot of mid cycle bleeding. Losing all this blood has made me light headed, dizzy and fatigued from low iron. I used to be pretty athletic and exercised a lot but the bleeding has made me so drained I've considered going on BC to try to minimize it, but we are ttc so I'm going to refrain from it if I can. Hopefully I'll get pregnant soon and won't have to deal with all the bleeding much longer.

I would get in to the doctor for a blood test just to make sure you're not anemic. My recommendation would be to try to get in while you're bleeding because your iron levels will be at their lowest. If they're within normal range despite the bleeding and tired feeling, you can at least count out that you're not anemic. If you think you may be pregnant again, ask them to do an hcg count while they're doing bloods for anemia, that way you can get them both over in one stick. If you are indeed pregnant, the blood test will tell you exactly how much hcg is in your system. Good luck! I hope you find some answers soon!

Biscuits - Thank you for reading and replying. It's weird that I feel totally normal otherwise, so maybe it's something off like you said but it's just really mild. I'm definitely not pregnant because I'm only on CD 15 and temps are still low like they are pre-O.

Lilmisscaviar - Thank you for replying too. Maybe it could be anemia. I haven't had extra bleeding during my cycle like you have, but that first AF was extra long and heavy. And this last AF wasn't quite normal either. I don't really feel tired though. Just can't seem to build strength in my legs. If I keep feeling like this I may ask for a blood test. I actually feel like I started slimming down slightly because this week my work pants actually felt good instead of being really tight. Maybe I'm just slow to recover.

Thanks again!
