wow we just had quite a big earthquake, i cant stop shaking all me and OH where worried about was covering my tummy up, poor bubba would of felt like it was on a theme park ride!
its been over an hour and we still getting decent size ones... and i live about 5 ks from where it was so pretty much as close as you can get.

just thought id share my news haha

Wow, lol... baby must be loving that adrenaline rush!! :haha:

How big was the earthquake?

I have this great mental image of you and DH diving and both covering your belly... scary at the time, yes, but a very funny image in my head! :)

Wow, pretty exciting as long as not too scary!

Only ever experienced one minor earthquake - they had one in Dudley in the Midlands, also about 5 miles from me a few years ago.

I's gone to bed and thought my Oh was having a seizure the bed was shaking so much!

Hope it doesn't last long enough to get annoying - anything broken?

haha i laughed but then OH got mad at me for laughing, and he is so worried, he being a good daddy to bump and the puppies lol. all i could think about was the movie knocked up and how that guy didnt care lol..

it was 7.4 the biggest earthquake in christchurch in 55 years

Hehe... thats how I am.. by the time I realize its an earthquake and not somebody shaking my chair or the bed etc... its over
Glad I work in an office with my own nice big desk to duck under though, lol... I remember when we had to 'duck' under our desks in high school... a 1ftx1ft piece of wood attached to a chair doesn't protect more than your head and won't do a good job at that!

thanks hun, just had another big one, getting a bit over it now haha

Just had take away fish'n'chips. DH finished most of mine off. I read out your story (cos it's nice to have a different kind of post). He said, and I quote "When I fart out these two meals it'll probably measure 7.4.....and you're only a metre from the epicentre..."

What a charmer.

It's made the BBC news https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-11183685

:)

Glad you are all OK

Just seen they are declaring a state of emergency as said on sky news! Hope you are ok x

Glad yor okay hun !! ive been in big earthquakes before and they make you feel so weird trust your dogs !! if they freak out make sure you get under cover quick cause they will sense the earthquakes a whole minute before they happen!

we still having after shocks, my auntys house is so damaged it had moved 5 meters is up on a 30 degree angle and there lounge is now a 6 ft hole. its pretty bad here i didnt notice until i walked out on the street we were so so lucky! only a few bricks have cracks in them thank goodness...
and it all sticks like shit and dirt, not a good time to have heightened smell haha...
we cant get out of the town because the bridges are all closed and the rail way lines are all smashed

at least has made me take my mind off bubs, i threw up before because i have not eaten all day so im off to make a cheese sandwhich...

Take care of yourself.... and as my family learned in our big earthquake in '89.... get your house inspected when you can... we had no visible damage but our fireplace/chimney was not safe anymore (would have leaked carbon monoxide into the house through a crack that was not visible from the outside or inside the house.

hope everyone you know is ok!!

oh wow really scary!

my friend who was 8 weeks pregnant m/c this morning she thinks it was due to the shock and stuff :(

:( Thats so sad... hope she's going to be ok
