Still testing?

Hi
Just wondering if any of you are still watching that lovely second line getting darker every day? If you are, will you keep going till it gets to the same shade as the control? Carry on till the first scan? I have 20+ tests and wondering to test every day, every other or just give up and hope this one sticks. When I miscarried, my tests gave it away, I just didn't realise at the time :-( Looking good so far :happydance:

I tested every day until my ics were used up! I got a line darker than the control at about 5 weeks. I'm all out of tests now and won't be buying any more! Although I am sooo tempted to see what my line looks like on FRER....

Thanks for pos ting HB! Mine looked pretty dark this morning, will be 5 weeks on sunday so sounds good so far. Will probably keep going till they run out tho! Hope all is well with you

Good idea! The trouble is, as your hcg gets nice and high, the progression isn't nearly as satisfying as it is in the early days and the lines are just all dark.

Had a good scan today and saw fetal pole with a flicker :cloud9:

Are you due Feb or March?

How much change did you notice day to day? I got a very faint BFP 2 days ago at 10dpo--yesterday was clearly darker but still quite light. This morning it looked like it was the same as yesterday if not perhaps a little lighter. This is my third pregnancy in 4 months so I'm pretty nervous. The last one ended as a chemical after less than a week and the tests never got darker and remained pretty light so I suspected something was wrong. I'm only 12dpo today so I suppose I have a little time still-- did most people have dark lines by 5 weeks. I should probably stop testing as its just making me nervous, but I can't help it.

Hi Emily, I am sorry to say I don't have very good outcomes with tests that are slow to darken. Both times this has happened the tests stay light and I have ended up losing the pregnancy 1-2 weeks later. However, 12dpo is still early - with my confirmed pregnancies I have usually had lines as dark as the test line by 5 weeks. Progression is the most important thing, but I'd try to compare tests 2 days apart, not every day. Good luck, everything crossed for you xxx

Hang in there. My lines on ICs were dark by 5 weeks not quite as dark as the control. By 5 1/2 weeks they were darker than control. Fingers crossed for you

Thanks for your replies :). I'm going to go for blood bhcg tomorrow so we'll see...

Good luck Emily. Let us know how it goes

I don't know why I torture myself like this--maybe I'm just hoping the line will start getting darker and I'll feel better, but it isn't. This morning at 13dpo was the exact same shade of light pink as it was the past two days at 11 and 12dpo, all fmu. I'm feeling pretty terrified that this pregnancy will end shortly too. In 3 weeks we are visiting my husband's family where I will have to stare at his 6-month pregnant sister for two weeks...I don't know how I'll possibly be able to do it...

I just went to look at my tests (they're all stored in a drawer!). My 12 and 13 dpo were pretty much the same and very light in colour. 14 and 15 start to show a change. People advise to test every 48 hours to see the line darken. I took no notice personally and tested every day. It is torture I agree. Hope you see a change soon hun. Let us know x

Thanks for the info! I'm trying not to be pessimistic but also don't want to get my hopes up either. This is torture! Every little cramp or twinge and I think "this is the end." It's sad we can't enjoy this time for fear it will happen all over...

Have had plenty of cramps along the way, same as I had with my son but still nerve wracking. 2ww doesn't come close to the 3m wait! Agonising.

It is *so* hard :hugs:

The only way I manage to get through it is to try to remember it is out of my control. Worrying or hoping won't change the outcome - I'll get to my 12 week scan or I won't. Meanwhile I am not making big plans for either outcome.

You are right, it is cruel that the excitement is taken away from us. I like to think the feelings we'll have holding our rainbows in our arms will be so much sweeter because of our struggles.

Good luck, let us know how you get on, everything crossed for you xxx

Totally agree, with my first I was quite blasé and didn't cry at scans or anything. This time will be so different if we make it to meet our rainbows, I'll be a blubbering mess!

My bhcg at 13dpo was 157 so I'm pretty pleased with that! I know the real test is to see it doubling in two days, but at least for now I'm just a little less worried. Small steps :)

That's great news! Will look out for your update, hope you can relax a little now x

Great! Really pleased for you! Do let us know.

My bhcg more than doubled in 48 hours! Now 445 at 15dpo so I'm feeling a little better! (Part of me feels like I'm letting my guard down too much but I want to try to enjoy this pregnancy). I think my progesterone level was ok--17.8 (not a medicated pregnancy). And I haven't even taken a hpt in 2 days!! (Aren't you proud?? :)

That's great news Emily! Very happy for you hun. Well done for stepping away from the hpts as well, takes some determination. Is that it then? No more testing? I hope you can enjoy your pregnancy now. Keep in touch!
