I'm new to the form! So I guess I should let you know what I have going on!
I was told 7 -8 years ago that I had PCOS, when I was a teen. So, I was put on metformin at that time. I had never had regular periods and never started until I was 16 with the help of provera.
Once I got married I, we wanted to try for a baby, so I was taken off the metformin. We couldn't get pregnant, even with the help of fertility meds. Now at the time, it was a good thing because we were just married and young. So we stopped trying and now 4 and half years later we are ready to try again.
Up until October of 2010 I had regular periods and was on birth control, which I stopped in June of 2010. October 2010 was my last period until June of 2011. I had started seeing a specialist in January of 2011 who did tests and said everything seemed to be in order. So, in June we tried provera, and oh boy was I ever moody. Very thankful for my hubby who had to put up with me during those long 2 weeks! So they started my period, but then July, nothing! So, I seen my doctor in August and she put me on progesterone. 2 weeks later and no period. I've felt like I was going to start and nothing. I called my Dr. yesterday and she had instructed me to do a hpt.... so of course that got my hopes up and made a very disappointed me today. Should had known, but when you get that little bit of hope you need to hang on to it!
So, my next step is to wait another 2 weeks and she said if I wasn't pregnant and didn't start I had to call her back. I'm doing everything she told me, taking prenatal vitamins and folic acid and lost weight like she suggested. I know I'm only young (23) but that is what past doctors have given me the run around about that I have plenty of time to become pregnant. But I just want to be able to have normal periods first and then hope to get pregnant.
Anyone else out there have something similar to this?
