So I'm going for a blood test on weds to see if I'm down regulated enough. If I am I can start stims (gonal-F) on weds night. So excited!!

I have a question... I'm 25, with DH having a male fertility issue. How long did each of you take to stim until EC? Reason I ask is I have some work commitments on the weekend where I'm guestimating EC. If I do start on weds its looking like 9 days will take me to Fri 7th, 10 days will be 8th May and 11 days will be 9th May or 12 days will be monday 10th May.

I wanted to know how long others took, 9,10, 11 or 12 days so I can see whether I need to start cancelling stuff pronto! :)

Thanks girlies xxxx

Hey Hun, as you know we are on the short protocol, but EC is estimated on the clinic template form to be on CD10. ET on cd 12! Stims start on CD 2. I only have 1 900 gonal-F 150 pen, so that's 6 doses....

I'm on a long protocol I think. They said between 9-12 days. Stims start once down reg is confirmed which will be CD3 for me. I have 2 gonal f pens so 12 doses max xx

This is sooooo weird! All those protocols are so confusing! We're on ICSI for male factor ( border line morphology, all else fine) and i have a history of endo (all hormones in order, regular ovulation).
Sounds like you should be counting also around day 10-12 for EC, i guess it all depends on how well you respond to the drugs.

I know I just don't get why there's diff protocols etc! I know it will depend on how I respond, was hoping to get an average from other people lol. I think I may have to just cancel some things if I can or get advice from clinic on weds :) xxx

Well, my clinic - Create Health -mainly does natural /mild ivf, where they fit everything in your natural cycle. We chose them because they use less drugs and the consultant was my NHS consultant so knows my history and i din't have to pay for tests again. They don't think that there's a point of shutting my ovaries down only to start stimulating again, as they are functioning just fine, they just need me to produce more eggs the can harvest and mix with the swimmers.

You do seem to be on a short protocol (long protocol is more like six weeks) but I seem to recall that 9 days of stims is normal. 9 or 10 then HCG injection, 36 hour wait and then egg collection.

hmm so i might be alright to keep my work commitments that weekend then. 9th day would be fri night, then say HCG shot on sat then wait 36 hours would that make it monday?

Perhaps I should wait until I know more before cancelling. Tricky!

thanks curlysue! :) xx

Well i would hazard a guess at egg collection sunday or monday depending how u respond.i started my stims on a thursday+did trigger the following sat nite4ec on the monday. so sun/mon.its so hard not knowing tho,and when2cancel etc i had the same problem!id leave it as long as possible til u have2cancel stuff just so u have a better idea then x x

Thank you hunni!!! Cool so Sat should be fine its just possibly the sunday. That's better anyway as the sat was more important! shall see what clinic mentions on weds and then go from there. I feel proper blagh at moment, major hot flush!

So I'm now thinking what do I do. clinic said my EC could be mon, tues or wed of w/c 10th may. Wed is tricky as I have work on the sat so that would mess up ET. Unless I had it at like 10am but then aren't you supposed to rest or does it not matter?

I am hoping to start today so would be able to do 11 shots up until sunday 9th then if I did my trigger sunday night that would mean EC tues 11th. That would be perfect!

What do you reckon is that realistic? Worse case I can pay for a blasto I guess if they let me and then I won't need to worry. Only that my DH will flip his lid at an extra £420!!
