I had my lo just over 6 weeks ago in an elective section cause she was breech. When i get up in the morning my tummy is relatively flat but as the day goes on it gradually swells up till it gets to the stage i look about 6 months pregnant :O Also every so often the area above my scar goes a bit numb :( Anyone else experience anything like this? Ive had my scar checked and they've said its heeled fine and these problems are having are natural but ive never heard anyone say theyve experienced this

The numbness is normal and eventually it may go away...for some, it takes a long time if ever.

Mine is still numb.

As for your tummy being flat and then getting bigger, is it like bloating from when you eat?

Hiya, I had a c-section almost 10weeks for the same reason, my baby was breech.

I can relate to the scar area feeling numb, I was told before the c-section to expect this sensation and to expect it to last for months or even years.

I don't have the same swelling that you describe though. If you're worried about it, keep going back to your Dr about it until he or she really listens to your concerns and gives you an explanation for it.

All the best x

Its kinda like that but on a bigger scale and i eat no where near as much as i did before i became pregnant (pregnancy put me off a lot of things) I can start the day off in a size 14 and by 9 at night im strugglin to get a size 18 fastned

I agree then that you should go back to the doctor and raise a concern about your tummy swelling. :hugs:

hiya i had my 4th c section 6 weeks ago today , the numbness above the scar is normal to be honest i never got all the feeling back after having my daughter & she is 8 now but everyone is different , not sure about the bloatness thou . violet xx

I have this too.. and i also find my stomach aches on the right side where my c sec scar is more to the right when ever i eat :| and it hurts on the right side when i go for a wee (sorry!) Im going to mention this at my 6wk check.

My stomach is still numb after 7 months lol! My cousin had one and she still can't feel around the scar and thats over a year ago :S

I am 8 wks pp and have the same thing. I had a c-section due to a complete previa. My stomach was almost flat 2-3 weeks ago as I had lost all but 5lbs and now it's seems to be getting larger. My weight is the same, but my stomach is getting bigger.

The only thing I can think of is that I'm breastfeeding and I know I'm not eating enough nor am I drinking enough fluids/water. I think my body may be trying to store fat and liquid for the BM. (I also have an oversupply). I'm going to try to do better and see if it helps.

I also have the numbness above my scar.

I also still have the numbness, I was told it could take months to yrs to come back weird. once the nerves are cut they heal at there own pace.

I don't notice any numbness? Or is that something that comes after? I was swelling like that during the first 2 weeks but I don't notice it anymore. I agree with the girls, mention it to your doctor.

still numb too. I think I have a bit of the bloatedness thing too. But I think it is maybe because (and this is prob going to sound so stupid!) of gravity lol. Like when you're lying in bed the gravity pushes it down and when you get up because your abdominal muscles are loose after all the surgery, it just all flops out. That's what I think anyway but I am totally rubbish at sciencey biology stuff and come up with quite silly explanations for most things!

I've got the numbness too, and I still feel very bruised in that region, which is more annoying for me. I'm only 4 weeks in, but I was told that the numbness would last at least a few months too.

I had a section over 6 months ago and up until recently my scar would occasionally go numb. However now, touch wood, its been fine for the last month. I also would become bigger as the day went by in the first 2/3 months. I felt like i was pregnant still- i put on a couple of stone while pregnant and since loosing the weight my stomach has gone down to normal size now.
Speak with your doctor at your post natal chech or the health visitor might offer some advice?!

me too... for me my right side has been WAY more painfull than the left, from day 1 (its now been 3 weeks and stiil, the right side is more tender than the left)

i wonder if its a co-incidence or if there is some difference in the layout or organs on the right side to put more pressure on the scar?

i'll ask my doctor also in 3 weeks if its still happening.
