Af started on Sunday night, at least I think it has. The thing is it's really really light, doesn't even fill one tampon (sorry if tmi). Now sometimes my af can be light for the first day but usually by now it's become heavy and I get cramps. I haven't had any cramps at all, I've been taking painkillers as I get painful cramps to try and avoid them but I haven't really had anything. I'm not going to take anymore unless it becomes heavy but this is really strange for me.

It also may be worth mentioning that my boobs were really sensitive the day after ovulation up until about a week before this 'af' started, again this is strange. Usually my boobs hurt and become sensitive in the week running up to af, but they feel completely fine. I'm not quite sure what's going on, if it stops completely then I'll test. I definitely ovulated this month since I had the pains I usually get, this af started 15 dpo, just like last month.

Sorry if I've not made much sense, any ideas as to what's going on?

Something like this has recently started with me also. My last two periods have been like yours. They start out spotting for a day or two then they start like normal. When I got my first one like that I was really confused, and wasnt sure if the spotting would be CD1 or the regular period flow. It was VERY confusing for me. AF started the same way the next month. I took pregnancy tests just to be safe since I had a previous ectopic pregnancy and they were negative. I have no idea why my cycle started to do this but its "normal" for me now. I would say maybe your body is doing something like this.

I had the same thing last month! A lighter, shorter AF with cramping with sore BB which started about a week before AF was due. I am not 100% sure why it happened but it didn't end up that I was pregnant. I was reading up on it and they say that this can just happen for a number of reasons. I.E stress, didn't actually ovulate, exercise, possible pregnancy... Once AF is done do a test to be sure. Also if you are doing your temps and they have dropped then it's definitely not pregnancy. They say it's normal that not every cycle is exactly the same and occasionally will be shorter and lighter. It's worth going to the doctor though if cramping persists or your next few cycles are also shorter and lighter or you don't get AF at all and still have BFN's. Hope that helped.

Thats the thing I don't have any cramping at all. I usually get it pretty bad on the first and sometimes second days of af.

The lack of cramping may be due to the fact that your AF is light and you're not completely shedding the lining of your uterus. So you're not passing tissue and clots so your uterus doesn't have to contract so much thus minimal to no cramping. Just a thought.

Yeah maybe. It's just strange since I've never had a period this light before. Maybe it's delayed and will become heavy tomorrow or something. We'll see :)

Af appears to have stopped completely after a really light two days. Going to see how today goes and maybe test tomorrow morning. Going to Cornwall on Saturday so it would be nice to know before then.
