So I've been doing everything to avoid stretch marks! Drinking lots of water, moisturising all the time, bio oil, coconut butter! But I'm still paranoid I'm going to get lots of stretch marks.
I've had 1 or 2 on each hip from my teenage years, and I've got 1 from being pregnant right down low on my belly and that's it so far (I'll be 19w on Saturday). Sadly I think they're envitable, especially in the third tri.

Does anyone have any words of advice or is anyone else already getting them too?

In my first pregnancy I tried everything that people suggested and I still got a ton of stretch marks...I think its one of the enevitable im afraid xx

From one hip right around the front to the other and then closer to the end more so around up just past my belly button. I was smaller built back then though and grew huge xx

I have gotten some stretch marks. No advice on how to get rid of them though. From what I hear, after you have the baby they will eventually go away or at least become less noticeable.

from what I read it is mostly a genetic thing and you either get them or you don't!
I hardly got any last time around so I am hoping it will be similar again.

What worked for me was drinking water non-stop, and keeping the weight gain slow and to an absolute minimum (14 lbs over pre-pregnancy weight is what I ended at). I got one tiny little stretch mark below my belly button that you can barely see, especially since it's on the line.

And I'm very prone to stretch marks - my hips and thighs are covered with them from when I got fat. They are a result of skin being stretched too fast, so watch the weight gain and stay hydrated. :flower:

I had a road map all over my belly with DD, but it did get lighter later on. With this one I am not too worried now.

Thanks girls! I've actually lost weight and haven't even gotten back to my starting weight yet so hopefully that's a good sign!

I'm covered mid thigh to above belly button from having ds as I got so massive but most of them have faded to a light silver colour although you can feel them as lots are very deep.
I really don't think there's much you can do about them.
Xx

In my first pregnancy I really thought I'd escaped then until week 39! I've got them on the inside of my thighs and tummy, I think I'm starting to get some on my legs as well now. There not all that bad honestly, they don't bother me anyway, my days of wearing little dresses and short tops are long gone :haha:

Lol that's true! :) I just don't want them lol. DH says they don't bother him, but they bother me lol

Mine have faded a lot since my last baby, they're not noticeable unless you have a good look x

I didn't gain anything until the third trimester, and the one stretch mark I got came at the end when I put the most weight on, so I think it is! :flower:

I tried everything too but with my first literally the VERY last week of my pregnancy they exploded all over my belly :(

My doctor says if you're going to get them there's no stopping them. You can encourage them not to be SO bad, but if it happens, it happens :/

They used to be SO RED, but after they really lightened up to the point where you can't really notice them too bad. So far with baby #2 I haven't gotten any new ones and they're still light in colour, so I'm happy :)

I'm pretty sure it's all genetics and there's not much that you can do to prevent them. I drink water constantly and slather myself in cocoa butter and vitamin E oil. I still got a few on my hips and my lower stomach. I can't wait to see what the third trimester will bring :(
