Struggling to keep my mouth zipped!

My cousin is fully aware I had my second premature baby on Monday, she's 37 weeks today and she and her mum (my auntie) have flooded facebook with comments on how they are trying to get the baby to come early! I'm so furious! I'd give anything to be 37 weeks! I should be pregnant and moaning about the heat but instead I'm trying o split my time between a confused toddler at home and a sick baby in hospital. I'm just so angry that they didn't consider anyone else's feelings. They have always been incredibly self absorbed but this just tipped the boat with me! Do whatever you want to hurry things along but don't rub it in my face! Rant over! Sorry ladies! Xx

That is incredibly insensitive of them. Common sense and decency should have come into play here but some people just can't see how their actions and words hurt.

I can remember a young lady who was having some back issues at 32 weeks saying how she wished the baby would just come now. After listening to her whine for half an hour, I pulled out my phone and showed her pictures of my tiny preemie at a few days old with all the wires and IVs and started giving her statistics on preemies. I felt bad afterwards because I embarrassed her but hopefully I put things into perspective for her.

I'm not sure if you even want to respond to your cousin's Facebook posts but if it was me, since she is family and everyone can see your comment, I would just comment that I am happy that she is having such a healthy pregnancy and that everyday her bundle stays inside is a blessing and that he/she will have the best start possible by going full term. With that type of comment, you subtly let her know how silly she is being while seeming supportive of her.
