Had a bleed at 11 weeks (brown discharge every day since), had ultrasound right after and just found out today (13+2) that they had seen a small subchorionic hematoma. When doc told me the results, she seemed unconcerned and was saying it wouldn't affect baby but she talked fast and I got distracted and forgot to ask about sex.

Has anyone been in this situation where it bled and had doctor advise about sex/orgasming? Haven't had sex since but have had O and did notice more of the brown discharge after than usual. All my googling showed people being on pelvic rest, but because it was small and bled out I don't know if there is a difference?

I had a huge sch and my dr didnt put me on pelvic rest she said some suggest it and some dont thinkmit does anything. Dh and i still dtd and i had had a bleed. My last appt she said it had resolved itself. Maybe call your dr and ask just to be sure?

I don't have a SCH but I did have spotting and dr told me NO sex. I definitely wouldn't if u have a hematoma u risk having it burst.

If its brown its bleeding out. I would not dtd til discharge completely stops. I had SCH at 7 weeks & we stopped til I had confirmation at 12 wk scan that SCH was resolved. I have no sex drive in pregnancy, so that makes it easier!! Now, we function on low level, & always very gently...

Thanks everyone. I am hoping since it bled out that once the spotting stops I will be in the clear to dtd, poor DH is suffering haha.

Oops just re read my post i meant to say we didnt dtd when i had my bleed, my dr said if i started spotting brown we could dtd after it ended but i was not on bedrest

Had a tiny hematoma and spotted and cramped after having sex. We waited until it was completely gone. I think with brown discharge it would definitely not be recommended. Many women even go on bedrest while spotting and for two weeks after. :/
The risk of a big bleed is the placenta detaching or premature rupture of membranes and even after the hematoma is gone a minor risk is still there. That is why you want it gone asap. With every week it sticks around the risk increases.
