I was hoping there might be some women on here who have experience and can help. I am not sure of this is what I have had this week.
On weds morning I had a very heavy feeling in my uterus and went to the loo. When I wiped there was quite a lot of blood and then for the next 3-4 hours I bled reasonably heavily and passed a couple of clots. I was convinced this meant I had lost the baby. I didn't go to the Dr as I thought nature was just taking it's course but by Weds evening /Thursday morning the bleeding had become brown discharge which eased to spotting throughout Thursday. I had a chat with my daughter's nurse and she recommended I get checked by my GP just to sure everything was as it should be so I was going to make an appointment on Friday. However, Friday morning I woke up with horrible morning sickness and I got really upset thinking my body was playing an awful trick on me. So we went to a&e and got referred to the EPU. My bloods showed my hcg was over 1000 though the didn't say by how much, and my internal showed no obvious problems. I couldn't get a scan until yesterday but I was still convinced I was either miscarrying or having an ectopic. So we were more than a little shocked to see our little baby on the screen with a lovely fast heartbeat.
Obviously we were thrilled and on a bit of a high so it wasn't until we had left the unit that it occurred to me that no one has actually told us what the bleeding was, or even what it could have been. So I have checked with Dr Google and Subchorionic Hematoma seems to be the most obvious cause. What worries me is, if that is the case, there are recommendations of bed rest, no lifting and basically taking it really easy but no one has said this to me.
I will contact the midwife tomorrow but is there anyone here with experience that might help please?
