Hey, 2nd tri ladies! I hope you don't mind me popping over to ask a quick question...

My dh and I got our results from his sperm analysis back today. They were good and bad.

Count = 80 million! Holy moly, that's a lot of :spermy:

Motility = 30% (kind of low)

Morphology = 7% Really low. Has anyone else had this problem? What can he do to help fix the problem? Has anyone conceived with this low number?

Please help! :help:

Hey Hun, I'm in the same boat as you but count was only 21mil per ml and motility 17% his morph was 3% at it's highest!!
I was told by FS that WHO have changed the guidelines and now 4% is normal..!! Espectially for you with 80mil sperm!! Your numbers are great :D

We have not yet gotten pregnant but still have hope xx

I really wish I could offer a positive story. But I can't from my own experience. My ex had very poor Morphology and we were told IVF was pretty much our only option. IUI wouldn't even work. However, I have read that there are supplements that can be taken that DO work. A healthy diet can too. Have you looked on Long Term Trying To Conceive or a complications forum on here? Some ladies have good advice.

Good luck :)

hey hunni! me and OH had the same problem! he had 96% abnormal sperm and we were told by the docs our chances to conceive were pretty much useless! and here i am!!

if you want to have a read, go to my journal 1st page and it explains all!

https://www.babyandbump.com/pregnan...-samira-s-pregnancy-journey-thread-eeeek.html

i did everything - charting, fed my OH with vitamins (selenium and zinc are best recommended), i took evening primrose oil to help also and OPK test strips! basically we had sex every other day during my fertile period and a couple days before and after just to make sure we caught it! and my birthday was the day we got our BFP at 4 weeks!

miracles do happen and it does only take 1 strong swimmer to get through so dont let the docs tell you any different! i remember bawling my eyes out in the docs when he told us and he had no sympathy and we would of had to been trying for much longer than the year we had already waited to do anything else for us!

keep it up and good liuck hunni! xx

Wow Samira. When I was with my ex you would have been such an inspiration to me. Why do doctors have to make you think there is no hope? Some really need to work on their bedside manner.
Congratulations :)

Hey Hun my dh's sperm at the first test was 4% morphology and at the second it was 9% our fs told us anything over 4% is now classed as normal which I wouldn't believe.dh was told to cut out drinking completely as that was probably the problem,dh didn't cut down at all but he started taking vit b complex and centrium and within a month of him taking them we got pregnant.good luck xx

awww bless you thank you hunni! im sure my OH didnt feel the same! i turned into a crazy baby making pest - sex wasnt for love it was to make a baby LOL

Tell me about it with doctors!!!! i wish i had a woman maybe she would of been more understanding!

BNB was the place that helped though, i learnt so much in TTC from this site!

PS your scan pic is amazing!!!!! little acrobat baby hehe! xx

I know what you mean. I turned into a crazy lady too. We had been trying for years and had numerous tests including a lap and dye. It's why I joined this forum years ago, I was at my wits end.
Sadly I don't think a woman would have been much better. I'm guessing you went to Bournemouth Hospital? It was where I went and did have a woman and to be honest she was not much help. Made it out to be doom and gloom. I left very deflated.
Thank you :D He is still an acrobat, in the 20 week scan he had his legs over his head, he he.

i_want_one - congratulations! It's great to see encouraging stories.

yea it was bmouth :) where abouts are you from hun? x

oooh yea! poole have a much nicer maternity unit dont they!!!!! plus if anything goes wrong when at bmouth you get transferred to poole! im in bearwood so im bang in the middle but i got put to bmouth which i dont mind but would of rathered poole!

are u on facebook? add me - samira magrabi x

Please look into pyconogenol. It worked wonders for my DH. I am currently 28 weeks pregnant now. GL x

Hi these were my dh analysis results from his 1st test after he had his vasectomy reversed they weren't great as you can see but I still became pregnant a month after the test, sadly the baby stopped growing at 8-9 weeks so the pregnancy ended in miscarriage

concentration 28 10^6mls >20
total motility 35% (a&b) >50
a)rapid progression 25% >25
b)sluggish progression 10%
c)non-progressive motility 10%
d)immobile 55%
morphology
a)normal forms 3% >15
b)abnormal forms 97% >85
c)round cells not seen
agglutination no

these results were off his second test after we'd both been taking vitamins, I took pregnacare and he took concieve plus, and as you can see by my ticker I'm now 20 weeks pregnant with a little girl

volume 4.0 >1.5
concentration 64 >15m/ml
motility progressive 33 >32%
non progressive 18 >40% pr&np
immotile 49
total number of
sperm per ejaculate 256 >39m
morphology 5 >4%

Hi,
with severe polystistic ovaries was told we would need ivf to conveive, OH had his sperm test which was really poor, similar to yours in fact worse thing only 2% were ok, however one doctor said to me 'it only takes one good one' and he was right! i tried to make my OH take vitamins but he was useless and forgot. It did take 12 month to conceive but now 29 weeks along and everything going fine.

Yes the Maternity unit in Poole is one of the best in the South. But I always found the care better in Bournemouth. I had my lap and dye there and I wasn't thrown out asap unlike when I have had ops in Poole. But not sure if the Maternity unit there is good.
I'll add you :)

Rosababy - so sorry to highjack! I'm pleased to see you have got some great responses and hope they help and you get your BFP :flower:

Hi ladies my experience;
after trying for about 14 months, went to gp and my dh sperm test was 36 million per mil, he had low motility 14% and 100% abnormal form. they told us to come back for another test after 2 months and in that time i got pregnant. i kept thinking it only takes 1 good one. i gave my husband flax seed oil, wellman conception and lots of healthy food. He was taking the vitamins for about 5 months till i got my bfp. I was taking pregnacare conception and taking my bbt everyday.
i hope this helps

good luck and don't stop trying

Thank you, ladies. My dh does take a mult-vitamin, and I started him on Maca a few months ago. I wonder if the conceive plus is any different than a multi? Thank you for sharing your numbers, too. I have hope again. :flower:

I just looked it up. Sounds like it's perfect, especially for morphology problems. Did your dh have low morphology? Congrats on your bean!

Thank you! It only takes one. Your story is inspirational to me. I really appreciate it.

Hi, yes he had crappy morphology. He started taking pyconogenol (so did I for egg quality - just in case) and when he had his 2nd sperm test done 3 months later the fertility specialist told him he had Olympic performing sperm, he was shocked. He had had 2 sperm tests prior to this and both times the results were poor. I can only put it down to the pyconogenol. Literally weeks after the sperm test (so about 4 months after taking pyconogenol) we were pregnant. Good Luck x
