Turned up for my 9.30am midwives appt. BP was fine but the second I laid down to have baby's heart rate checked GERD hit me, bad. The midwive was really worried as apparently she hasn't ever seen someone have such an acute attack. I started to sweat and struggled to breathe. Got wheeled down to maternity, BP was going up, my heart rate was 160 and was still sweating. CTG showed that baby was ok but my HR and BP were still rising (resting HR ended up at 180). Within minutes I had an IV in my arm being pumped with all sorts of drugs and fluids. Had a huge vomit and then started to feel instantly better. Then I passed out and the nurses let me sleep it out. I was all by myself and had no phone reception to contact anyone (must make a mental note to get a phone with a different carrier so I have reception for when I actually have baby). But I'm home now and feeling so so much better. Been told I'm to rest for the rest of the pregnancy and will be tested more frequently for signs of pre-e.
